If we get skywarp in this mold, do you think he'd fit in with the siege versions of the other 2, or would it be too jarring of a difference?

Yeah, there's some loss of articulation (wrist, forward ankle, waist, arm crossing) but side ankle tilt is better. ER alt mode, though, is >>>>>> Siege.

Alt mode would be too jarring of a difference. ER alt mode size is also quite a bit larger than Siege alt mode.

    ------

Some sites are selling ER figures still.

    Toydojo just has micro masters.
Toyarena has OP and 3 of the Deluxes (no CJ) but at higher upcharges.
Ages 3 and Up has micro masters and all 4 deluxes.

Got the new Decepticon Micromasters today. The brown one fares off much better the green one. Combined gun mode is underwhelming.

Brown gun arm guy can be Megatron's apprentice. If you halfway transform it to the combined gun mode, it might be able to be used as an arm mounted gun that looks better than the combined gun.

Passed on the Big Daddy pack, the hindered shoulders killed it for me when I saw them in person.

Man, I was Really exited for an ER Tracks, but if it's using the Wheeljack Mould (as precedent suggests) then I think I'm in for disappointment. Wheeljack works with this mould IMHO but I don't want it for Sunny and Tracks.

    I STAND TO BE CORRECTED...

Wheeljack mold is def gonna get retooled for the upcoming Sunstreaker, and definitely being used for the alleged listing of Selects Exhaust. Let’s see how much Phillip Morris will make a fuss out of it this time...

having him in hand for a few days now, i gotta say earthrise prime is the best chug prime mold hasbro has done yet and theres only 2 things they could improve on with future molds. 1, better planning of sprue layout so colors are accurate and 2, reduce the profile of the chest. honestly both of those arent really major issues in hand

Just because it was used once 10 years ago(yes, 10 years ago) doesn’t mean they will again. You can’t just flip the legs around like reveal the shield one and call it good. Back then it worked to an extent because it wasn’t trying to focus on making them cartoon accurate. It was making G1 with updated appearances and a modern look but here and how devoted they are to making the figures faithful to their original look tracks and wheeljack won’t share molds.

Hmm..... my order of Earthrise Grapple arrives at my doorsteps a lot earlier than expected.

    IMG_20200212_202948.jpg

Now that I have Earthrise Grapple in hand, I say that the design of the figure itself is pretty good. My copy isn't exactly perfect in terms of QC as the left shoulder joint was quite loose out of the box (But fortunately, it's fixable with some super glue or floor polish), but other than that the figure itself is pretty good and packed with quite a bit of fun accessories.

That said, I do see that the peg breakage issues of the crane during transformation been a potential hazard as the tolerance is just a bit too tight on both the pegs on the crane and the peg holes under the feet. I may be experimenting a bit later on to see if those pegs can be further strengthened by drilling a metal pin through the hollow pegs to avoid any breakage potential, but for now, I'll say sanding down both the pegs on the crane alongside the hexagonal peg holes under the feet just a bit together would be the easiest way to reduce any chance of potential breakage (Which I did once I opened my Grapple out of packaging).

Man I am a total sucker for those hydraulic-looking black armpit tubes Grapple has got going on. What a neat little robotic detail.

I hope you are right. That's all I'm gonna say. (don't want no panel bits on Track's hands)

Yeah, despite the figure itself looks quite simplistic at first glance Earthrise Grapple is actually quite a well-detailed figure when seeing it in-person with quite a bit of potential for adding some decals or panel-lining. The design of the figure itself is pretty good, but there are some bizarre choices on the figure itself that feels more like an oversight than anything (Like the partially hollow pegs on the crane that was involved during transformation which has some reports of those pegs breaking off during transformation).

But other than that, the figure by itself is good and the aforementioned peg issue is fixable.

I'm actually wondering if the bot mode looks too different from the siege seeker mold. I'd like another opinion on that since skywarp is inevitable, but I don't want to drop money on the siege version for my shelf. Thoughts?

I feel like Cliffjupmer is the kind of guy that would just jump off a cliff because it was there. Just all of the sudden he takes off running, "WATCH THIS!" and he jumps.
