Question to those who have him. Have you noticed if the plastic around his pin in his lower leg has started to stress? It’s like this on both legs. I’m not sure if it’s from transforming him, or pressure from the pin being fired into the plastic from the factory. So I’m not sure if it came out of the box like this, since I just noticed it today.

Hoist is to wave 1 like Siege Hound was to wave 1
    Best of the 4 imo.

If you're talking about that Reveal the Shield one, I can take pictures when I'm out of class.

Does the stress mark expand when you move the joint?

Not that I have noticed yet, but he has started developing stress marks in his ankle joint and the peg slot on his lower leg now, so my Hoist might just be a lemon.

I forgot how bad that grapple is - I was debating upgrading to the new one, not anymore.

These new molds give me that original feeling I had when I was a kid buying G1. These are truly upgraded G1 figures (for the most part).

He’s pretty blocky but there is some heft to that figure and he doesn’t suffer from spindly arms or legs.

Yeah I love how hefty that figure is. As much as I understand why the new Grapple is appealing for those wanting replicas of the cartoon characters, I'm keeping the older Grapple and Inferno as I love them as reinterpretations.

Pretty sure Hoist is my favorite out of all the first wave deluxes. He's completely accurate to the G1 cartoon, and I'm truly impressed by his size for a deluxe. I really feel like you get your money's worth out of him. Just an awesome figure.

    Pros:
    * Looks quite good in robot mode
    * A 'tall deluxe' like Ironhide/Ratchet, which works well for the character
    * Transformation is mostly un-annoying once yo get the hang of it
    * Articulation is good, with deep bends in the elbows and knees.
    * Some probably don't like it, but I think the worn paint effect on the front of the hood works for him.

    Cons:
    * Has that 'conservation of mass' thing where toys that are large for their price class get more hollow, with cavernous spaces in the legs and forearms. The main body too, but that's better obfuscated by the wheels and backpack.
    * The large truck-sides hanging off the shoulders are bothersome, and I kinda wish they could fold up.
    * The head platform doesn't appear to lock in place, so the noggin can be knocked back easily.
    * Truck mode is rather kibbly underneath, but the front end looks pretty thin and hollow. Too bad they didn't try something with the arms to bulk up the front bumper somehow.
    * The weapon. I see what they were going for, but it just looks like Hoist is fisting a mustard bottle to me.

Overall: Definite issues, but a very strong Hoist toy IMO, beating out the Generations T30 toy in many ways. I'll be interested to see how Trailbreaker might come from this mold, even though I like his CW toy.
