Aboard the new Decepticon city, a marvel of Cybertronian technology, many old mechs traveled with minds full of reflection.
The Constructicons had known the Cybertron of the golden age; they actually helped build some of the more beautiful structures that once adorned the Cybertronian skyline. They were mechs of renown that had good names until they crossed paths with the Decepticons. Hook, the most influential among the six builders had the initial encounter with the leader of the upstart movement many vorns ago. The charisma he had, the promises he made, and the visions he possessed inspired Hook, who in turn inspired his five brothers to join him in the movement. The Constructicon’s love for building was something the leader of the Decepticons took note of and used to his advantage. He gave them free range to build whenever and whatever they desired, and used his propaganda to stir up ill will towards anyone who would dare suggest they temper their enthusiasm for engineering. With his blessing they had soon build a city that rivaled even Cybertron’s capital city in beauty and splendor. Hook could remember the pride that swelled inside of them once they shared the engineering marvel with the masses of non-Decepticon Cybertronians only to be angered by the reaction they had to this stupendous feat. Megatron, who by this time had assumed full leadership of the Decepticons used this anger to for his purposes and instructed Hook and his brothers to demolish the much treasured Crystal City to show Cybertron that the Constructicon, or rather the Decepticons were not to be questioned or disrespected by anyone. Hook could remember the day well, even the fact that they almost didn’t go through with it. Looking back on how everything had developed since that faithful day, he wished they hadn’t, and he was sure that his other five brothers who now lay in stasis felt the same way.

Outside of the control room, another ancient Cybertronian made his way through the flying city leading his own brothers. Grimlock had been around for what seemed like forever. And much like the Constructicons, had been non-operational on a planet that was not his home for a long time. The Constructicons were chased away from Cybertron by an ancient guardian turned Autobot, while Grimlock fled from the ranks of his fellow Autobots. As he contemplated what he’d do once he found what he was looking for, his checkered past flashed through his mind.

“Grimlock, Grimlock, may my boy have a picture with the champion of the pits of Tarn?”

“Make it quick, Grimlock has a battle to fight.” He responded to the fan.

This type of response was typical of Grimlock, who was always focused.

“Grimlock, this is foolishness! You can’t rush into battle without a plan. Your rash behavior may not only cost you your own life, but also may cost the lives of many an Autobot.”

“Grimlock, unlike other Autobots is a mech of action.” He replied. “ Now is not the time for talk, but for battle.”

Still, more memories flooded his processor.

“Grimlock, we have had enough. Your impatience has cost us time and again. We will not follow you anymore!”

“Fine, if you won’t follow Grimlock, Grimlock will find someone with enough courage to stand on the front lines with Grimlock. The Allspark, and Grimlock no longer belong to the Autobots!”

The decision to take the Allspark and flee with Jetfire was probably the most rash decision he had ever made. It was the only decision he would admit that he regretted, and he felt like choosing to make that decision put Cybertron in the dire situation he now left it in. he believed that his only means of making amends was to take control of this Decepticon war fortress, turn back to Cybertron, and use it in the battle with Unicron. He knew that without a Prime that this plan may prove futile, but he still believed that it was Cybertron’s and his only hope of salvation.

At the helm of the controls, Shockwave too was reflecting. He had seen it all in his existence, but never thought he see they day he’d leave his home world. Sure, evacuation was his idea, but he hated the thought perhaps more than any. He had never left Cybertron for an extended period, so this current mission was particularly hard for him. Earth was an organic world unlike anything he was familiar with, but what he learned from Starscream’s troops about Earth was that it was energon filled, and that energon would be the catalyst for his future plans for the empire.

His thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the leader of his latest creations, Razorclaw. “Do you hear that Shockwave? It sounds like footsteps.”

“Yes, probably just the Constructicons.” Shockwave replied.

“No Shockwave, they are all in stasis.” Divebomb interrupted.

“If it is not the Constructicons we are about to find out just who it is.” Razorclaw said as the door to the control room began to open.

“Grimlock!” Shockwave gasped as the Dinobots stepped into the large control room.

“Shockwave!” Grimlock answered back. “Let’s finish this.” He declared as he drew his sword and locked optics with Shockwave as Slag and Sludge focused their attention on the five Predicons that had an eerie loom of excitement on their faces.

“It’s go time!” Razorclaw declared, as all hell broke loose.

    Earth

Time flies, especially when it’s wasted. Wasted time was something Darryl was far too familiar with. He had never known stability. From his birth, to his latest days he was always on the move. His mother moved from Baltimore to California when he was a toddler. Shortly after they settled down in L.A., they had to move again due to the fact that the father Darryl’s mother moved across the country to escape found them again. From that point Darryl bounced around until he was nearing adulthood never getting the opportunity to get his feet firmly planted anywhere, never feeling like his life had any significance, and never having to be responsible for anything beyond the shoes he lived in, until 2005. It was in the year 2005 that Darryl’s friendship with a young man similar to himself transformed his life forever. It was through this friendship that Darryl realized the love, the sense of family, and the sense of duty to others that he’d been unfamiliar with. And it was that family that was sharing in this, the greatest day of his life with him.

“You’re doing so good sweetheart, keep pushing!” Darryl declared with an excitement that only an expectant father could muster.

“There’s the head. One more good push and……” the doctor declared.

    “Push honey, push!”

“And congratulations,” the doctor declared as he caught the newborn. “You two are the proud new parents of a baby girl.”

“She did it! I’m a daddy!” the excited father beamed as he walked into the waiting area.

“Congratulations Jackson.” Spike said as the two men embraced.

“What’d you guys have?” an older gentleman inquired.

“A girl, we had a baby girl Sparkplug!” Jackson answered.

“I’m so happy for you guys,” a woman said as she embraced Spike. “Looks like Daniel will have a little sister after all.”

“So what are you guys gonna name her Jackson?” Spike asked.

“Mikaela, Mikeala Jackson.” He answered with pride in his voice.

“Hey guys, take a look at this.” Sparkplug requested in the direction of the waiting room monitor.

“Autobot City?” they all questioned in unison as they watched the news report.

“Looks like we all have a road trip to New Mexico on the horizon.” Spike stated.
