The biggest company in the world still has things that require an actual computer to view?

And I thought the face sculpt for MP51 was crazy...

Thanks! I am on a computer and I'll email them again to request a reactivation of the link. Cheers, man, I really appreciate your help today! :)

I see nothing in the email about the link expiring, and if it's on the actual information page then that doesn't do me much good since I can't get to that info without the link. :D

I haven't transformed mine in weeks out of fear, but just checked again and it still hasn't got any cracks.

    Am I alone now?

Yeah, it was on the info page. I think. Maybe. I remember reading it somewhere, just can't remember where. It might have even been in an email from they're team.

Thanks, brother! It’s ok as long as it holds. I got him right after Christmas (can’t remember the day, but before New Year’s).

Did a quick check of the hinges today, and wouldn't you know it, there's a new hairline crack in one of the widely reported trouble spots:

    Crack.jpg

I did notice the hinge sticking a tiny bit, but nothing that would justify a crack appearing out of nowhere. (Shaved down a few bits just in case.) I think the real issue is a design flaw: there's not enough space to cram the seat cushions into the back without slightly stressing those panels. But that force alone also isn't enough to justify the crack, which makes me think the change in materials is an additional factor.

I don't think there's a safe fix for this, as my assumption is that the space below the crack is actually the free rotating part of the pin (since it looks like a bottom crimp). Trying to shove glue into such a tiny space risks freezing the whole joint. The only good news is that the side opposite the crack seems intact for now.

Well, whatever. I buy Transformers to transform them, so I'll keep playing with this figure until it breaks. After that, I'll either pick up a Gundog, or wait for the inevitable KO (though that might be a while with the coronavirus mess). Either way, I'm done preordering Masterpieces. I probably should've learned my lesson when MPM-4 shipped and was a complete disaster, but I was hoping against hope that was a fluke specific to that line. Lesson learned: no line is safe from cost cutting, regardless of retail price.

If HasTak wants to make it right, they should implement a free replacement program if/when they do a 2nd run. But they almost certainly won't.

Just noticed, are the cracks happening in vehicle mode or warrior mode? What are the percentage of the cracks occurring in those two modes?

Maybe there should be a survey too concerning this.

Well, like @Dean ML, it looks like today was my Hound's "expiration date" as well. I've had mine sitting in Jeep mode for a few days, and went to transform him back and found these:
    20200211_222525.jpg 20200211_222555.jpg

Bummer. I've went ahead and put a little CA glue in the cracks, so we'll see how it goes. I also removed the pin on the leg panel, and slightly widened the hole on the cracked part, just like I did on the other leg, to remove the stress. Which, by the way, that hinge is still holding after my repair a few weeks ago. Still no crack on the big head armature joint...but I did loosen that screw and sanded the shaft a little long ago.

Still keeping him though. Just gonna keep being careful and checking on his hinges every so often.

Seems to me at this point that Hound must be very susceptible to heat expansion or something, for these pinholes to keep cracking without any other provocation.

    Whoops, meant to reply earlier.

At least you don’t have to keep asking “when/if” it will happen now eh. That alone can be a relief of sorts haha.

You’re like the last healthy person in this Zombie Apocalyptic movie, and you just realize you have an open wound. Sorry Bro, but your in good company. Hound is still awesome.

....oh, they just got Jarrod too.
