a decade and a half ago I didn't think any of this would ever happen. Kudos to those old fan translations but I'm really happy this is finally happening.

It does seem that there'll be a gallery of at least SOME of the artwork. These books appear to be based on eBook releases Million did of the manga a while back in Japan, which did include story page art, so I think we'll see some in the earlier volumes too, not just the Zone stuff. Looking forward to finding out!

For anyone hesitating, just go and pre-order, the first volume dropped to $16.99, if it goes back up you will be locked into the lowest price.

    I'm a BIG fan of Amazon's pre-order price guarantee.

(Come on, price drops on the other two!...)

I provided the link but it was Neko-bot77 who pointed it out originally.

I also want to add what others have said... preorder now! The price will go down. My v1 is down to $16.99 and v2 is $20.20.

Has anyone one read these? Are they worth reading or is it mainly for the art?

    eeehhh, YMMV.

I bought the Japanese reprint collection in the early 2000s. It's great nostalgia. If you google Transformers manga, you can find translations for most of the stuff. It's ok. Nothing really gripping.

I can't wait for these personally.

I haven't read them, but I'm buying for the nostalgia/ something that hasn't been officially translated before.

It isn't deep amazing narrative from what I remember. Much like the G1 cartoon they're just fun little episodes with that extra manga-esque quirkiness to it.
Not great but silly and fun.
If I'm not mistaken one of these'll also have that one time they actually stuck First Aid onto Superion instead of Slingshot.

Does Barnes and Noble have a pre-order price guarantee?

Seriously, I'm happy to support a non-Amazon retailer, but I'd rather not sacrifice the savings I'm already getting on Vol. 1 (and potential savings on Vols. 2 and 3), which could easily beat that 10%.

I've never had any troubles whatsoever with getting items from Amazon, so I need a bit more reason to go with someone else that would likely end up costing me more.
