I think, at this point, if they did a second PMOP they'd use something closer to Siege/Earthrise. They'd want the base mode in the trailer and the combined mode to be "simpler" to pull off. From a design standpoint it'd probably be easier/cheaper to pull off than repeating the PotP design.

(Though, if you've got Star Convoy, you could pretty much have a PMOP already if you use the PotP trailer.)

Actually, now that I think about it....PMOP and Star Saber are very similar transformations (smaller robot folds up inside the "trailer") so they could very well be what comes after Earthrise.

 

Yeah what happened to it? Did people preorder it? Someone needs to ask takara what happened to it.

 

Nobody preordered it. Like how it's been mentioned previously in other threads (including maybe this one), we suspect that Takara is holding off until next year to spill more details about the new Armada Optimus. The radio silence is perhaps because Takara wants to perfect the conversion of Armada Optimus' trailer into the Super Mode's legs. And maybe work on Armada Jetfire in the meantime.)

However, that's just speculation. I know I tried to ask about it via Twitter. I even tried to tweet about it in kanji once to the Japanese Transformers Twitter. Still got bupkis.

yeah that. I have seen a bunch of memes about it with the faces of various politicians but did not know if people still did this in todays age.

 

The preorders never went live publicly, it just hasn't been spoken of since.

I don't think so, in the age of technology I think it's all amber alerts these days.

armada prime? it wont. takara reps at wonderfest said they still hadnt decided what line to put it in and at least as of toy fair last year, hasbro didnt have anything to do with the mold

 

Yeah, Armada Prime will be a Takara Transformers Generation Selects release, just like Star Convoy and the Seacons.

I wish I could agree, but Hasbro is less likely to get involved in a Takara-initiated project, let alone announce it in Toy Fair.

...Unless all that talk about how Takara is stumped about whether to release Armada Prime in Generations, Masterpiece, or a different toyline was just spin to properly announce a Studio Series-styled toyline dedicated to the Unicron Trilogy at Toy Fair?

You’re making my head spin!!!! I think a lot of fans would love that. Although, technically Generations is supposed to be non-movie Studio Series figures.

 

Well seeing as how Hasbro isn't likely to delve into anything that isn't G1 in general nowadays let alone the UT you're sadly right on it not likely to happen. I mean yeah Warden made strong hints of something big happening for BW fans next year and how some promotional stuff included Armada as part of it last year in SDCC I believe but even then they can end up not being what we hoped. We'll have to wait and see ultimately.

 

Too good for siege/generations but no way will they do a stand alone masterpiece series when they have MPM, BW and G1 ongoing.

It's longer back to Unicron Trilogy now than it was from the start of Unicron Trilogy to G1.

Unicron Trilogy as the next studio series would be my insight....

 

studio series is generations just as much as war for cybertron, the logo is on both boxes
