Filmation Ghostbusters toys deserve more love,I plan to buy a Scared Stiff to place with MOTU characters.
Build a figs are a sucky, greedy thing for a toy company to do. Either sell the complete building kit, or don't do the concept at all.
I think most Marvel Legends collectors would love to see BAFs done away with but people keep buying so I don't see Hasbro changing that business model anytime soon sadly.
I think with the recent price increases do to unforeseen events, doing away with the BAF element would be a great benefit for Marvel Legends. I think it’s widely agreed that something about the upcoming Black Widow wave looks off, mainly that they don’t seem to be using their face printing technology, even on the characters such as Widow who they’ve already made perfect face sculpts of. If that truly is the result of cost cutting and the price increases, then I say do away with the BAF element. Use the money to keep the individual figures at the same quality sculpting and painting, and just release the larger figures on their own like they seem to be testing the waters of.
I personally enjoy McFarlane figures now. I’m starting to think the SHF line isn’t all that enjoyable anymore. Mafex seems very overpriced.
NECA makes well sculpted and painted toys that are not fun, that have next to useless articulation, and whose plastic is weirdly fragile. and they have the literal worst fans on twitter that will shit down your neck for saying anything bad at all about the company. especially the NECA TMNT fans who go on and on about how they should have the master license.
I hate it when a figure has a box that isn't completely enclosed (where anyone can directly touch the figure), it drives my germophobic OCDs insane.
I hate displays where all the figures are packed together shoulder to shoulder with no spacing. Everything gets lost in a muddle of color and and texture kind of like a pile of melted crayons. It also just gives me a bit of anxiety. I have nothing against large collections, but let them breathe people!
Decided to dig this thread out of mothballs do deliver a take. ReAction figures and other 5 point of articulation modern retro lines are more worthless and creatively bankrupt than Funko Pops.
Haha, I was looking at the retro ~4” Marvel figures today and thought about buying one to go with some Universe figures but then considered the $10 they are asking is more than I pay for a lot of 6” Marvel Legends and decided “fuck that shit”. Lol.
Like, I get it to a degree. If you're a fan who likes to collect lines like Secret Wars, or the 90s Toybiz stuff, or DC Superpowers, or the old BTAS-JL lines, how a retro style like could be appealing. Someone may be happy to get a retro-styled Miles Morales Spider-Man or Damian Wayne Robin to go with those collections. Hell, I would be ecstatic if a company made G1-styled toys of characters like Arcee or Impactor. But this effort to squeeze every property into that same style, and charge so much money for them, is preposterous. This complaint stems from seeing Super7 currently advertising the Power Rangers ReAction figures, and they look so stupid! Most vintage PR toys are still relatively affordable in and in decent shape, and if I wanted something retro from PR that was expensive, I'd rather we get a reissue! Even Hasbro's weird attempt to do the Auto-Morphin Rangers, but with brand new sculpts, is just odd.
Haha yeah. If there are retro figures give me retro pricing, not insane pricing sometimes more than modern figures that are better. I’d pay $5 at most for those figures I saw and even then, I’d only get the one I kind of wanted.
This opinion is quite popular With the plethora of not-Transformers manufacturers over the years it is hard to believe none have tried anything like this. Everything doesn't have to be Masterpiece scale and complexity.
