I suppose the upgrade kit is the original upgrade kit and the picture is just there to indicate that we will get this kit, but in the new colors.
the question that I do not know the answer to is, is the chest plate (on the gestalt form) on the pictures the same chest plate included in the upgrade kit? they look similar but I am not familiar enough with this set to say if the two chest pieces are identical.

honestly, my eyes are on the upgrade head, the rest are just welcome extras (the drills may be a little more than that though)

So I got the new version in last night and I’m pretty happy with it. The only negative is my Scrapper is missing a small panel on the back of his alt mode. Hopefully TFSource will replace that.

Does this version come with the various upgrade/replacement parts (such as Scraper’s ratchet etc) or would you say they’re already integrated into the various figures? I don’t have a Devy yet, and I’ve been on the fence about this guy. That info would definitely factor into the decision making process!

This is the first version I’ve owned, so I can’t say for certain, but I think it’s pre-installed. It definitely doesn’t come with all that. It did however come with the standard upgrade set (drills, new head, thigh extenders, and a mismatched chest plate).

He’s definitely a fun piece, and the purple chrome is stunning.

Thanks for the pic! Hoping to receive this soon... Did it come with the Decepticon logos in place or did you add those?

Added that myself. Not overwhelmingly happy with the placement (the sticker is dead center but the sheet is ever so slightly off center)

Any noticeable stability issues? I have the original Gravity Builder, minus the leg extensions and he's a pretty secure beast of a bot.

So far so good. He passed a pretty significant shake test with flying colors.

Thanks, I had heard it came with proper stickers, but was not sure as I had not heard of a 3rd party using real faction symbols. I'll have to get some from toyhax (unless anyone has a better option). Enjoy!

Yeah, the shiny-shiny is what has me lusting after this. And at $400, it's a good deal for a 3P combiner.

As I understand it, this is regarded as the best 3P Devastator? I've heard mixed opinions on ToyWorld's, particularly in terms of spotty QC, mediocre bot modes, and parts being so tight you need WD-40 so you don't risk snapping an arm or leg off.

I have the United Warriors Dev, but I still want this guy because he seems like a ton of fun.

I think “Best Devastator” ultimately comes down to how you see scale. For my sensibilities, this piece definitely works better for a CHUG shelf (looks great with Siege btw) but I could see how someone could justify putting this with MP. It just wouldn’t do this piece the justice it deserves to display it alongside the likes of Zeta Superion or Bruticus. That should be left to TW Constructor, especially since that one fits better from a design standpoint next to more traditional G1 MP figures.
I feel like that was a needlessly verbose way of saying, “it’s up to you” but it really is a subjective thing.

Yeah. I mean, scale is a real bugger when it comes to TFs.

In the Sunbow cartoon, they grow/shrink when they transform or combine, and that makes things really tough.

I’ve decided that the 15” scale works for me because I like the Stunticons to scale with MP-10 and the MP Autobot cars, and I never liked the “growing” when they combined. So TFM’s set worked well for me.

But I also want my combiners to be roughly the same size as each other, so that backs me in to Gravity Builder as my “MP” Devy. Something had to give, and it was having small-ish bulldozers and dump trucks, and I’m okay with that.

After all, just look at MP Grapple and Inferno. Sometimes, you just have to compromise. :p

If anyone else gets this set make sure to check the pegs where the chest piece plugs into. Mine came wrongly assembled, will show you pics of what mine looks like and what it should look like. 5BD5E68D-DB1A-473C-A806-96026976275D.jpeg DCE562E1-4EF9-4D07-A862-84FEFA16D5C9.jpeg
