Well honestly I was collecting back then, and I thought he was completely awful when he was the 'best' Megatron at that time, and I skipped him because regardless he looks pretty darn bad. Arcee still has potential since this isn't out in the wild yet. But making a statement that she's the ugliest of all time is extreme.
He didn't say that this is the ugliest Arcee of all time. He said it's the ugliest Arcee now. I think it's the second ugliest with Leia being the worst.
Mmmmh, i see the the shitfest gross exxageration party by repressed people with miserable lives is in full swing now.... ... a common day in the tfw2005 forums.
I don't think it is the chest that is too low, it's the neck and collar that are too elongated and the head is oversized making it look even more out of place. the oversized head looks like it's on a pogo stick.
BW Megatron could maybe be seen as partially a shellformer, but 44 and 45 are not. The chest piece is sitting where it’s supposed to, the problem is the angle of the top portion. Even if the piece were shifted up the angle would be off from the animation model. That part you circled on the backpack is the panel that meets up with the top of the chest piece and has the Autobot symbol in vehicle mode.
It might not be the best one, but as far as fitting in with my other season 3 cast I think FT Rouge looks the best and I will not be replacing it with MP-51 unless Takara makes major improvements.
We, the grizzled veterans of the Mistransformation Wars of 2019, are here to offer our sober but hard-won perspective. You think your eyes are deceiving you, but what you see is, in fact, reality. Bumblebee V2.0 wasn't mistransformed. Blackarachnia wasn't mistransformed. Arcee isn't mistransformed. You might see certain parts in very slightly different positions as we get more product shots, but to paraphrase the noted existential philosopher Lady Gaga, they were designed this way.
Again, it's not. It matches up perfectly with the front of the car. That it why the chest is concave, instead of being convex. Given it is concave, I would guess there is something integral to the transformation right behind the chest in car mode.
The chest plate isn't too low; it's the angle of the upper part of the chest plate that's too low. If the entire chest was brought up then the peak of the chest plate which emulates the line where the nipples are on a person would be in the middle of the chest which is inaccurate. What needs to be done is for the chest plate to stay in the same place but it needs to be extended at the top.
Not sure if this has been posted already, but food for thought on the whole mistransformation debate. Care of Dan Ghile via Twitter (obviously)
Oh man I didn’t even see that until you mentioned it. Yeeeah, they need to let the sculptors go home to their wives. I think the face & head of the firebird version are really good though.
Look closer - underneath that in the shadow is what looks like could be another copy of the grey ribbed detail of the front of the hood. I think that's what he's pointing out. Could be onto something.
This may be what is referred to as a retroactive redesign, editing what a character looks like and having that look be established as the design they always had. Gundam does this often. EW is set chronologically after the TV series, but the designs are actually redesigned versions of the TV series designs. Audiences are to treat the EW designs as if they were always the default design regardless of events and timelines. What this means for Arcee is that this MP version could be her canon appearance, overwriting her original G1 appearance. This makes sense due to how inaccurate it is to her cartoon model unlike the last few MP figures.
No sir, real bustlines might be around that area, but they don't jut upwards like that. It was a piss poor design choice to not blend the bust into the upper body...like a "real" bust would do.
