Intersting, there seems to be a lot more 'going on' in his legs, arm guards and backpack... not as sleek as Cheetor. I guess the bulky beast mode has to go somewhere. Regardless both modes look phenomenal. I love the scale shot with Dinobot and Cheetor...purrfect.

Well it is, in that many thought MP-50 would be something special due the the 'significance' of the number. Yet again TT demonstrate that they really are not concerned with such things and remain unpredictable. therefore... no discernible pattern.

Hey no one is slighting or criticising @TTemploy, he was good enough to give us the information he had at the time. It just turns out that this time it didn't come to fruition. I'm still very grateful for the little tidbits he throws our way.

 

Intersting news. Looking forward to see more and better pictures. And great to see that it, as expected and argued, not simply a Cheetor repaint or slight remould. I do hope that in some way it is an oversized version of Cheetor (with heavy, heavy remould), because Cheetor had some fragile parts and upsized it should be solid as rock.


With every BW Masterpiece announcement I look if I prefer to stick with the BW figure I already have or if it's a special enough character. And if the answer is "no" I don't get it (e.g. Megatron, Lio Convoy).

I always wanted a good Tigatron and all I got is the Botcon version. Not unlikely this will be replaced by the MP.

 

Would it be stretching it to read something into the fact that Generations Rattrap up there in the display with the rest? Same goes for CHUG (TR?) Kup and Blurr in the Arcee display. It probably means nothing but could it be an indication that they plan MPs for thee characters sooner rather than later?

 

I love that the landmark (as perceived by us) number 50 release is an upscaled, retool of a B-tier character from Beast Wars. I don’t even want to know what was being predicted in the general MP speculation thread. I bet there’s a whole bunch of miffed fellas floating around there but the Arcee reveal should definitely wash away the dismay in no time. As Booster says, this shows just how little the numbering system means to TT.
Regarding the bot himself- absolutely splendid work again from TT. I was so braced for Rattrap that this news almost made me dizzy. Cheetor gets a lot of flack for his beast mode -even though I find it brilliant- but Tigatron looks like he should improve upon it due to his bulk. That bot chest does looks like the actual beast head too so there’ll be something different going on with the transformation for sure.

I’m so happy that I’m finally going to own a Tigatron figure- or- two Tigatron MPs! Gimme that gauged price; I’ll eat it for breakfast.
Oo but please show me his wrist rockets next- whether they be integrated or an attachable accessory, they’ve got to be there.

They showed gen Rattrap and Rhinox in that group shot with Dinobot as a grey prototype and that didn’t mean anything. I reckon it’s purely just to fill out the ranks and not hinting at anything. This is the most obvious year to make Rattrap and they don’t seem to be jumping on that (yet) so I think your usual approach to TT applies here as well- don’t bother looking for patterns or hidden meaning behind anything they do.

 

Yeah I know, hence why I said it was a stretch but it's fun to point these things out. I agree they are likely just there to fill out the group. However... I still reckon we will see Rattrap before the year is out.... the year of the rat just feels like too an opportunity to miss.

 

I honestly lost track of where the debate on Tigatron what would be would end up, but I'm glad we're getting an answer to the question, and that it's a new mold and bigger and all that. He looks impressive.

I was expecting something dorky and random like a car redeco as MP-50, so getting a BW character that's basically a bigger version of an existing release is honestly observing more specialness for the number than I was ever expecting.

Hooray, another BW! We're rapidly building the cast into completion. I mean, think about it, we're only missing Airazor, Rattrap, and Rhinox to complete the original Maximals! Predacons need some love, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get one next, probably a more prominent one of a similar or bigger size - I'm guessing Terrorsaur or Inferno. Also, you guys going on about complete casts and worries about certain ones not being made... call me when they make a Transmutate!  

 

I’m so happy to see that Tigatron is a fresh mold! It’s gorgeous! If I had to predict the next Maximal, I’d bank on them doing Airazor before Rattrap or Rhinox. And if I had to guess between Predacons...Tarantulas or Terrorsaur. But in the meantime, I’m so excited to add Tigatron to my MP Beasties.

New member to the thread here! I've always loved Beast Wars ever since I was a kid, and I thought the MPs for the Beast Wars figures were excellent; I got Cheetor a few years back, and unfortunately one of his panels broke, and I hadn't touched him since, and I didn't get any other Beast Wars figures since. However, after seeing the reveal of one of my favourite characters this morning, I immediately tried to fix my Cheetor. I tried a fix right now, and hopefully, everything is fine by tomorrow morning.
It looks like theres slightly more kibble on Tigertron than cheetor, but I guess the extra mass needs somewhere to go. Im gonna go get all the other MP Beast Wars figures ASAP! This figure resparked my interest in beast wars!

 

Tigatron looks really cool! I've been on the fence for awhile about getting Beast Wars MPs, but this might do it along with Arcee being the G1 release, which is an easy pass.

Yeah, not a MP. I would imagine an official figure would be almost 100% accurate to the show model.

 

I'm honestly not impressed at all but I might as well do my due diligence: is there any way to acquire one or do you actually have to be at the show in Japan to get one or something? I'm not familiar with these garage kits and I'm assuming it'd basically be impossible to get, but I might as well ask.

 

Maybe another spider might show up?
(Similar to shadow panther and burning convoy...but those really are just repainted I guess with little extra molding)

 

Tigatron is another beut! That's six for six! Which is pretty amazing all things considered. I really didn't dare to imagine we'd be able to say there were six original Beast Wars MP moulds and thet by and large they are all fantastic... but here we are! I'm really glad Tigatron appears to be an entirely new mould, clearly borrowing some cues from Cheetor, but entirely new with a markedly different transformation. I'm very pleased we got the wrist rickets, something I remember brining up back before this thread existed and we were spit-balling ideas for an MP Tigatron having the circular "will he be a Cheetor repaint? Will he be upsized? Will he be a retool? Remould? Entirely new mould? Again I'm glad to see he is the latter.

I'm also less outraged with the price than usual, it's expensive but they could have gouged us for more I suspect. At 2 Primals, 3.4 Cheetors, 20% more than Lio Convoy and only 30& less than Megatron that's still a pretty penny but its under what I predicted... so I wont grumble (too much). I'll be interested to see what accessories we get at that price.

Tigatron not being a top tier character does fill me with renewed optimism that we'll see most if not all of the cast release. The real indicator that that in the cards would be some more Predacon, specifically the less popular ones. Historically TT (reflecting the Japanese collectors marker as a whole) has shied away from 'baddies' and generally stick to fan favourites when they have done them. A Terrorsour or a Scopronok (despite my general distain for the character) would be a really good sign that they plan to go for the whole cast.
