and that isn't a bad decision, just like FT's Warpath and Brawn, they showed the metallic paints and people (including myself) said they shouldn't be metallic since they are military type vehicles. thankfully they went matte.

 

Also! If you jump to the 2:30 mark an look closely at the metallic slingshots gun you will see that micro metallic flake that I was talking about that is everywhere on this set.

 

Honestly, Zeta can do one on their first release from now on, if they release any more g1 combiners after Raiden that is. 3 times now, this is their normal business practice it seems.

 

Raiden might be dead for all we know. They ran for cover with Core Star, can't imagine the MP version of Raiden won't have the same effect.
Weren't they looking at Predaking too, though?

 

I think so yeah, but that's been quiet for so long it's probably dead too. Too interested in releasing repaints of what should have been released first time around sadly.

 

I don't suppose you feel like double-dipping and getting Superitron to see if it matches your custom upgrades?   I'm thinking of getting him but if I did then I'd want to get your upgrade set, which looks like it would match the original colours more.

 

Got my superitron together finally. Been a busy day. I took a pick next to fans toys Phoenix X to compare the metallic finish. I feel that superitron is about 50% painted overall. It has a really nice finish. I also feel the metallic effect is fairly close to fans toys. I affixed the chest upgrade as well. I think they took some of the die cast parts out of silver arrow to compensate for the weight of the chest upgrade.

I do have a qc issue though. One of the feet attachments is cracked so I’ll have to see if I can get a replacement. Otherwise I like it. Glad I upgraded.

Your grey would be close, but then someone could always use a metallic effect clear coat/wash to match.

I wouldn't trust myself to match it up, but I reckon it might work. Plus, it's only the legs ou need, because the chest is dealt with, albeit less accurately than your mod...

 

What the new version needs is the side contours/slopes to replace the chest wings, then it'd look alot better. More accurate too with the black sides, if that makes sense.

But Zeta is possibly going for premium paint jobs on there combiners now because of there new brand Zeta V supposed to be quality products which there Predaking is branded under and future combiners.

 

I have waited for Zeta's boxed releases of Bruticus and Superion and could not be happier. This is the Superion I wished for as a kid! My wife, who regards all things "collectible" and "toy" as ridiculous and absurd blurted out, "That's impressive" when she saw Zeta's Superion and Bruticus standing together on the floor of our living room. I really, really, really want Zeta to do a Devastator and Menasor since the Toy World Devy isn't my thing and I like FT's individual Stunticons too much to actually combine them. Well done Zeta, please give us more!

Yeah, lol...Toyworld Devy was designed by Zeta team. I can't imagine Zeta doing Devy at this point, but I suppose you never know.

 

They had a funny thing where they rereleased some figures TW had under their zeta name so maybe they’ll do it?

 

that was because they had maintained the rights to those... I think devy was the only one TW retained, which is why they have been milking the daylights out of it
