Any more, and I’m shooting for ‘done’.
But let’s get real- I don’t think I will ever completely stop getting this stuff.

so I was looking at ER Optimus and I gotta say- it doesn’t excite me.
But then I thought ‘why not just make YotH MP-10 my Classics Optimus?’
And I guess while I am at it, my DX9 Rhichto... w/e can be my Powerglide... my 3 Mighty Warriors Warpath and Huffer... replace my Classics BB with my MPBBv1...
... not sure about my MP Wheeljack tho. I dunno...

    Anyone else have some insight?

MP Star Saber is my classics star saber but that is the only one.

I did buy the downsized MP optimus for my classics collections though

Seriously though. Your Huffer and Warpath examples are arguably more classics anyway, un-articulated hands are not an MP thang. Ignoring that (and Mp10v) there's so many iterations of classics versions of characters it's almost embarrassing.

    Yes. All the time.

Mix whatever you want with whatever, your collection. Transformers and transformer toys are so varied all across the board that I have no problem mixing different styles of bots, toy engineering and materials, and whatever else together, though I do try to keep vehicle modes that look like human vehicle modes roughly scaled together.

It’s really only appropriate with four of them, and in two ways.

MP grimlock is too small to be in scale with MP, but is perfectly scaled for CHUG, specially for season 3 g1.

combiner wars leader class Megatron was designed in part to “double dip” and be semi-compatible with MP-10 Optimus prime. This is because at the time Hasbro / Takara figures they wouldn’t do a gun Megatron anytime soon, sow silver tank from chug fit the bill.

Combiner wars titan class Devastator was intentionally designed by Takara to scale with MP and be a “virtual masterpiece”. From interviews everything about him was designed to make it part of mP in spirit. Not sure if this applies to predaking too.

lastly MP-24 star saber is semi-chug compatible. A legit chug star saber is probably a commander class figure, or about 25% smaller than the huge mp-24z but regardless Takara paired a lot of legends god Ginrai stuff with MP-24. I’m not quite sure the way this is supposed to go. Mp-24 was a kind of one off, made as part of Takara’s 30th anniversary celebration for transformers and made slavish to the toy. It could be chug compatible. Consversely it could be that legends god ginrai is another “spiritual masterpiece” that is supposed to be a “good enough for now”
Entry, like Megatron and Devastator, until they do a legit god ginrai masterpiece in the future.

I don’t worry about ‘scale’ too much.

I'm primarily a classics collector so i'll just use the MP cassettes in that display (Ravage, Rumble, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Stripes, Nightstalker, Wingthing, Enemy) or I'll ransack the MP's for their accessories (i.e. Wheeljack's Anti-Hypnosis device, Grapple's Solar Tower model, Exhaust Immobilizer, etc).

I've got the voyager white mp10 ko as my classics Nova Prime, and thinking of getting the red one as my classics optimus, if that counts.

For legit mp, i use the cassettes in my classics. They're far too small for mp soundwave in robot mode. In fact, i find all cassettes too small for their soundwaves, no matter which one. The cost of them needing to fit in his chest. But mp cassettes with siege soundwave fit perfectly. Rumble comes up to just under waves waist, which is right to me. But everyone else is too big for classics. Although i have toyed with mp shockwave fitting in in the past, and I'm currently thinking about mmc inferno going into classics. I'd go mp inferno but he's too toon for classics. Just a little iffy that he'd be too big.

Funnily, i have laserbeak perched with my mp. And classics rattrap and rhinox with my mp maximals.

I don’t have MP Soundwave, but have entertained getting THF Cassettes for Siege Soundwave

I’ve also contemplated MP10v for my CHUG OP... but I’m just getting tired of buying

toy version Shockwave (especially since the Siege version is WAY to small and over-greebled) and the MP Cassettes are the only ones I'd seriously consider. Grimlock maybe, but now he seems too giant compared to the PotP Dinobots.

I display MP-40 Hot Rodimus with my generations; I think he fits in rather nicely.

I have the MP cassettes and Grimlock as part of my CHUG display. Probably going to move Road Rage down as well since she's tall in the new comics.

I only have a few MPs and all have been at one point or another been displayed with CHUGs. MP Bluestreak was my Bluestreak for a long time until the Siege 35 one. I even headcanon paired him with Universe Inferno as a quirky duo.

MP Road Rage is displayed with CHUG Crosscut. Mp Ratbat was my Ratbat along with the TR tapes until siege.

Yes...but with specific parameters and reasons. Classics/Generations figures are placeholders when they can adequately fit.

I was all generations/classics for a long time and hated the MP line for the prices/lack of character selection. As the MP line grew, it became more. Viable as a choice for me... when a character fit.

When Titans Return Soundwave was announced, I bought MP aoundwave, because it would be a similar scale, but better quality. From there, I got FT Quakewave, since the classic line had no shockwave and he'd fit with Leader Megatron + MP Soundwave. I picked up a few MP carbots, whose Generations figures were too poor in quality (Tracks, Wheeljack, the Datsuns).

Eventually, MP was filling more and more spots and I became an MP/3P collector.

Today, my collection is mostly MP. I'll use "CHUG" titans, like Metroplex Maximus, and Trypticon, because there's a lack of MP choices. I'll use figures like Deluxe/Club Runamuck and Runabout or Siege Flywheels and Titan Returns Skytread as part of my collection, as those characters were always smaller and the quality is good. I use the Titans Return autobot+Decepticon clones too. Similarly, I use legends figures for mini bots and MPs.for the rest of the Autobots.

My combiners are third party. I consider the TFC, Warbotron, Transformission, etc... combiners to be MP scale because MP carbots should be the size of a limb bot and the combiner leaders should be leader/MP Prime..... basing all of this on the G1 toyline. I have interest in the Zeta and Toyworld MP combiners, but the size is too big and the cost is high for combiners I already have a decently scaled representation of. Plus, Abominus, Piranacon, Defensor, and others dont have MP combiners in the works and I hate incomplete sets.

Some are 100% placeholders until something real comes along. Like the Titans Return figures of the target masters (needlenose, misfire, etc...)

More of I use Classics with MP's than the other way around.

But I never had an issue with mixing figures from different lines. At one time I had a small sub collection and mixed movie and animated figures quite happily and without issue. And still would have no issue doing so. And sometimes if can even work better that way.

Currently MP is aimed at high articulation and as cartoon accurate as possible. But if you want a collection with what is in your opinion the best or most appealing version of a character (like e.g. MP-10, DX-9 Richthofen, United Jazz, Siege Ironhide, whatever), then you get a collection of best versions and that can be very rewarding (and I think MP Wheeljack is the best possible Wheeljack, so I would fit him in).

Also, in the past, iGear was going in that direction: MP seekers with Chug cars and downsized MP Optimus and Megatron. And someone like MP Shockwave would be a perfect fit in this as well.

Bottom line is: your collection, your rules. Display and mix to your hearts delight. It's a hobby to be enjoyed and if using MP-10 with Chug figures brings you joy, then it's the best choice you can make.
