Well, after my MP Hound debacle, definitely not jumping on any pre-orders. Hopefully they've fixed whatever QC/paint/factory issues they had with that one and this has good QC. Vehicle mode looks really nice. Robot mode...hopefully a bit mistransformed lol.
Are you telling me Hoist and Windcharger are more popular or important than Arcee? Even IDW couldn't do anything with Hoist.
Maybe? C-lister? Agree to disagree... And I'm not saying Arcee isn't important either, just for the record. I only looked at S1 too. There's S2 gaps to plug yet too.
I'd argue A-listers still to come: Jazz Cliffjumper Constructicons Galvatron Cyclonus Scourge Springer Kup Fort Max Scorponok Super Ginrai Edit - Arguably Sixshot and Overlord too.... After that would be varying degrees of b-listers down IMHO. I'd argue Arcee isn't an A-lister but I'm sure ppl would disagree. Ignoring her gender she literally does fuck all in the movie and cartoon. I'd personally say Devastator is more a b-lister too but again, others will disagree so I've added him due to his being the first combiner and his Diaclone heritage. And he does play more of a part on screen than pretty much any other combiner, especially in the movie. Galvatron is the stand out name. The fact he hasn't come in this new direction is almost criminal.
It's just like Blackarachnia. I'm sure the joints and footprint will be more than sufficient on the final model. Just a weak prototype
Glad I already have ft rouge, looks way better. Might still get this, but if it's too expensive, it will be an easy pass.
More thoughts, now that I'm more awake. My first reaction up on seeing this thread title was "oh, that's a surprise!" However, I wasn't initially very excited about an MP Arcee. I'm happy to see it as she's essential to the Movie/S3 cast, but I think my enthusiasm is dampened a bit because that's the point where G1 took some turns that didn't appeal to me as much as what came before. Finally having an official G1 Arcee realized as a figure is great, and I probably will end up getting her mostly out of completionist tendencies... though the more I look at the photos the more interest I have. I wonder if she'll have a red visor that flips down. I'm guessing she will since they included that kind of gimmick on both versions of Hot Rod and on Hound. I'd love to see a photo of her hand closed properly around her gun too, the way they've left it open there is awkward. Probably the more I see of this the more I'll be interested. Just felt like putting a more complete post together of my thoughts so far.
I'm talking about S1 G1, prior to the trainwreck that was the 86' movie. Yes, those characters are important. To me, they are more important than pinky. To be fair, I've always despised pinky.
Fair assessment. I’m almost 100% certain they’ll have that flip down red visor - such a cool look too. S3 was never a big deal for me, but it definitely had some cool points - just thinking about Galvatron’s transformation prior to destroying the core in Web World gives me thrills hahah.
When you kill off most of the original cast because you don't know how to use them with new cast, then try to replace the most iconic character with Roddy, yea, to me, that's a trainwreck. No, I'm not a Bayverse fan either. I did really like Bumblebee though. I digress, this is the Arcee thread. Foe those who have been waiting for her, I'm happy for you. I just don't think she's anymore important than those who came first in the first season of G1.
Yeah, I hope there’s some adjustability in there or some further development of the design. It’s also possible, I guess, that’s she’s mistransformed here. Who knows. I’m not liking the chest or thighs much (too skinny). But, it’s still early. Fingers crossed.
