Megatron, Soundwave, Optimus Prime, Scarlet, Lady Jaye are iconic characters, Arcee was an add in to the movie and S3. Imo Transformers as a franchise did not need female characters and where was the G1 counterpart to Acree?
Man that neck goes all the way up doesn't it. The torso as a whole just looks gaunt. Like most people here i really hope its just some funny photography; dont forget MP Hot Rods promo images. There's always a chance those photos are just super unflattering. All in, weird photos or not, I'll be sitting this one out. I'm super down for a new Arcee figure, but mp figures have left a weird taste in my mouth as of late. MP44, 45, and 47 have really shown that the new direction for MP's is hyper cartoon accurate, which isnt a bad thing, but i think its leading to over-engineered figures with monster price tags, that personally seem to come off fiddly. Can you imagine how expensive and over the top a new masterpiece Ultra Magnus would be if they ever decide to do one? MP22 did a super good job looking screen accurate without having a transformation length of 44's. I'm not asking for simple MP figures, that would be crazy. I collect CHUG because this type of thing doesn't always appeal to me, and i know its very appealing to a lot of people. I just miss the older style mp designs. I'll wait for the Earthrise one, so long as we're done using the dreaded Moonracer mold...
Pink-faced always looks wrong to me. I always imagine her face is the same color as the rest of her head but that is actually wrong?
Takara/Hasbro has a funny habit of double making the same character in the MP line and Generations line around a calendar year . We’re getting Arcee as an MP and in Earthrise. Last year we were shown Siege Hound then MP Hound. I’m seeing a pattern. Been hoping for MP Arcee for a while. From the angle of the pic, she could use some more hips. Can’t wait for some good shots.
Took inspiration from HardReturn to try to make MP Look better I think the bad viewing angle of the photo is partly why it looks bad. But it's not the only reason. Namely the collar, chest and backpack all look bad on the real figure. Adjusting the chest improves only one part of the figure's appearance.
Except the movie is iconic and as a result so are it’s characters. And that’s not just within Transformers fandom. search 80’s movie soundtrack playlists on YouTube music and The Touch will be on the playlist. Clearly it’s stature within the brand is on firm, iconic ground.
First part is odd, and there's nothing wrong with them so long as they're good characters. Gobots has handled it better than most TF media by.. not explaining them at all. THey just exist. But what do you mean about her G1 counterpart? Are you referring to her toys, because there were a couple attempts to add her. The prototype with the weird shoulders, Japan was gonna repaint Chromedome for a Headmaster Arcee during that run, too
I can see the pink, but also see how it could pass for white or grey. Thank God I'm not a Twitter/Tumblr art critique that doesn't grasp the concept of lighting.
If somebody told me that MP Arcee was revealed, I would've never believed them. I also agree that ATM she does look a little awkward, mainly in the face and chest area, but let's see what the actual figure looks like later tonight.
This! The blurry image of the display case is more flattering than that poster. Let’s see some real pics first
Wow! Never thought Arcee would come before some of the bigger G1S1 bots. Based on the more recent MPs I’m going to wait until this releases before blind buying. The head sculpt looks way off to me and I’m sure the transformation will be stress inducing. The panels on those legs could be realllllly delicate.
Arcee is G1. By virtue of being the first major female Transformers character, she is very iconic. Probably due to the lightness of the pink. Her face, arms, and hands were light pink. Like those parts were her skin while her legs and feet were tights and shoes.
For many, she was a major part in growing up and watching the movie plus transformers. Let's just say you can agree to disagree with the others. I'm cool with having female transformers in my collection.
