people do love to hop into this thread to shit on the MMC combaticons, then say 'oh you don't need to shit on the competition!' if you mention a reason you like the MMC ones better than zeta or UT.

 

To be fair, the times I call people out is when they literally call the other options "SHIT" just to justify their opinion on the mmc bots. idk why some come in to talk down the mmc bots without mention of the other choices tho.

weak arm ratchets? anyone know what kind of ratchets these are? hopefully the system is FAR better than what was on feral rex (ver weak ratchets in some areas)

 

So I finally shipped my pile of loot and today the first three of these guys arrived, and MMC I am disappointed in your quality control. The tolerances were way, way too tight on Onslaught EXCEPT for the arm joint where VORTEX connects can't support the weight. I'm gonna have to contact MMC over the next few days to see if they can help. I also have to return Vortex because his head can't stay on, but i can live with that, but what I can't live with is that his ARM fell off because it wasn't screwed in all the way. What the Hell.

Swindle is fine though. I just expected better than these big problems from MMC.

 

Got around to testing my Onslaught (PO from PSX). Bot is tight. Transformation was pretty simple and intuitive, didn’t even use the instructions. Vortex’s ratchet joint is stiff enough, could be abit stiffer, but able to hold his arm up. Looks really good. Now to get around to changing Fraudo into leg mode and putting the slippers on. Can’t wait for the final members and the start of the Protectobots.

 

I just hope they an add on G1 chest part for my Ocular Max Incursus(Onslaught)

Well MMC probably won’t make it since they seem to be done with upgrades on this set. Maybe someone else will design a part.

 

After seeing this in person, i’m now behind both philosophies of combining toys.

- all in one is a very impressive feat of engineering and design

- using pants and torsos to cheat a larger and intimidating combined mode is still a sight to behold

- everyone wins and there’s no reason to put one down over the other. The only real loser? Our wallets

Edit: however, this option outclasses UT’s in almost every single way. Sorry UT/DX9. Menasor looks solid though, and you guys are killing it with the movie line

 

...hmm: i expect that the arms and legs can't really be interchanged due to the all-in-one design, but i wonder if defensor will be able to swap select limbs with bruticus scramble-city-style?..

 

Well the legs can be switched. The arms can’t switch hands though. But it’s possible that Defensor could switch. Nothing concrete though.
