Just got Blade. Been wanting this one for a while, finally pulled the trigger.
I'm HIGHLY impressed. Totally exceeded my expectations. My only nitpick is that the belt constantly has to be snugged down to the belt line, but that's a small price to pay for the everything else this one gets right.
The shades look like they're sculpted on when you put them on his face, and the teeth and fangs actually stick out instead of being molded flat. The costume, the coat, the working throwing blades, the guns, the this and that and the other thing...

Worth EVERY penny. I'm surprised he's still so readily available.

That was fast. They posted a change to Thanos' face yesterday and he's already up for preorder now. $155.

The faces look very nicely painted in the promo pics, but I don't know if this is worth $155. I don't love the faux leather suit. I bunches up a lot in some shots.

I'll go for it, but I wish he came with an energy blast effect.

Looks good. He's a big boi. Not going to preorder. I'll pick it up on eBay when it gets released.

Yeah I'm not going to preorder either. I'm trying to think of other examples of expensive Mezcos besides Gladiator Hulk and Darkseid. Neither of those held their value, but this is a pretty good comic interpretation of Thanos, so who knows.

I don’t care about the aftermarket value but I’m surprised if Darkseid is not holding value. It’s one of the best figures Mezco has put out so far and the best Darkseid figure period as far as I can remember.

I actually love how it looks, the faces especially look great. However, the infinity gauntlet looks weird from most angles, and the poses in the pictures make it seem like he can’t really move that well. If that’s the case, then yeah, not interested for $155. Maybe if it goes to $100, I’d debate on it, but right now I’ll just admire if from pictures.

Please show of more Ghost Rider, Mezco. I love my Punisher, but most of their current offerings aren’t for me.

it's such a nothing nitpick but i think one thing that bugs me is you cant see his neck proper so it looks as if he doesnt have one and because of this, when you look at him from certain angles he looks as if he is hunching over. I blame that extra piece of mantle that protrudes upward near the head.

I didn't mean aftermarket, I mean by retailer. Stores and dealers were selling Darkseid for $100-120. Gladiator Hulk's MSRP was $125 and can be had on Amazon for about $75.

They teased him earlier in the week with a different face, then yesterday showed this face in a new tease.

I swear every single proto pic has the face photoshopped in some way. I don't know what else it would be unless they were just fooling with the first face and always intended this one. So that's why I think the neck is weird.

That’s even worse because it means it is still in retail stock and on clearance.

They screwed up the eyes. They should be black. That's why the face looks off to me.

They also should have made the suit a lighter blue.

I guess they were going for an MCU influence but they shouldn't have.

Yeah, very heavy MCU influence for something that's supposed to be comic inspired. Like I said earlier in the thread though... Mezco is always doing something so that their figures never quite hit the bullseye. I'm almost beginning to think it's in their licensing agreement that comic representations have to be Mezco's own take.

"Do you even read comics bro?" instead of "do you even lift" is appropriate for Mezco.

I think sometimes it works but other just don't. This is why their stuff doesn't sell out like it used to. People for the most part aren't into the updated looks.

Well bad for them, good for me. I think this is priced about $30 too high and I felt the same about those other two. They were crazy with Darkseid's price, even if it's related to the polystone choice, it's just way too much for a 6" scale figure.

There's always a possibility that there'll be a PX or SD/NYCC variant that'll have more comic colors.

I think there'll be a change overall as far as selling out goes. It doesn't appear that Amazon is stocking any new ones themselves and FB dealers have said that all their preorders now require NRDs as directed from Mezco. So we may have a big dip in production quantities of future figures. Here's a list of production #'s if anyone's interested: DorkLair - Collecting Podcast (Star Wars, Marvel, DC, SH Figuarts, Mezco and more!)

Yeah, online etailers like BBTS are facing the same issue. When I emailed BBTS about it they said it was at Mezco's directive more or less. My guess is Mezco is trying to stop excessive preordering from devaluing their brand over time. It's too bad a lot of their 6" figures are overpriced for what you get. I feel like a lot of the mark downs are more in line with what they should cost on average. Of course I also look at it on a figure by figure basis.

Yeah I agree. I know they don't want their figures being on Amazon for $60, especially since Amazon can say fuck you to them when other cannot. Mezco has a strict thing about listing their stuff at retail and no lower, so comic shops et al just can't list anything less than retail. Meanwhile Amazon was just using their algorithm like normal to lower the prices after release.

I just hope they figure something out so that, in general, the releases sell out within a reasonable timeframe. If I could be confident that this Thanos would go up in value, I'd pre-order him despite my reservations about his proportions and tailoring. It's more of a nuisance for me when a line's releases typically don't hold their value, because I don't like playing the "Wait for a deal" game. Even if it saves me money on purchases, it's irritation and it costs me money when I eventually unload the figure.
