Yes but in the long run it doesn't matter, look at Prime Wheeljack for example.
On the plus side I'm happy for who collected the old version because it's still a viable alternative, it's shorter but still fits in perfectly with the new figures the only real difference is the ankle joint.

Me, I'm just happy that we're finally getting an official voyager-sized classics seeker with an Earth alt mode. I definitely plan on getting all 3 of Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker, and may even dabble in the coneheads.

Shucks, that adds up to an investment in almost $200 to own all the seekers...

A new Galvatron figure with an actual head would be nice.

I had all 7 classics seekers last year (sold them) and loved them except for the tiny size. Tetrajets was a nice stand in but I’m onboard for one last great seeker ride.

You know, I still have a lot of love for the Classic Seeker mold. When it came out it was a revelation, and I’m pretty sure I own every version of it.

So to me, this figure is less “lazy retread” and more “homage to a popular mold.” I’m on board for it.

I DO wish it had hip articulation more like the Siege version, though. I love that style of hip where the skirt swivels along with the thigh. That and the squashed look of his hip plate are my only disappointment looking at this.

I mean, "fixes almost all of the complaints with an already popular mold, but in the size that 60% of the fandom was clamoring for" leading to "it's too similar so it sucks" really reeks of an unpleasable fanbase.

I was always confused by the siege seeker mold... why even have a cockpit on an autonomous flying being? made no sense. the chest could have looked like anything and folded up on the back and looked fine and not outta place. its not like they had ever seen a earth fighter jet while on cybertron... i think to much i guess. Im deffo getting this guy tho even without the waist articulation which seems to be the only thing missing.

Yeah, that was my biggest complaint with Siege. We're supposed to be working with Cybertronian modes...but then for whatever reason they have bot modes that look like their Earth alts. But then if Hasbro didn't people would be mad that the figures weren't G1 enough.

It's an especially dumb desing decision when they turn around and give us the exact same bot modes in the next friggin' line.

People just like to complain. I mean everything else outside of toys is just so insignificant

Maybe I'm confused here, but what's the point of having WFC: S and E having the same alt mode?

They're just better off selling to the largest % that can be satisfied within reason. The rest that are (too) finicky can't be completely please anyway so why bother:D

There isn't one. For whatever reason they decided the Siege and Earthrise bot modes should be nearly identical because "G1" and so the mode most people will display their toys in are redundant.

I made the comparison to Prime Wars. We got four Optimus figures (2 Voyager, 2 Leader) and yet each had unique elements in both bot and alt mode that made them feel unique even though there were so many.

Prediction: You know this mold will blow up in the aftermarket years from now.

Get it while it’s on shelves or risk big regret later.

It’s nice to see I’m not the only one who holds the opinion that the Cybertronian theme in Siege was executed in a half assed manner. The fact that Earthrise goes full on Earth G1 and we’re getting the same characters that we just got in Siege makes the Cybertronian theme in Siege look even more lazy and half assed.

Of course, I will say it’s kind of my fault that I was disappointed with the execution of Siege’s theme. I was naive in expecting Hasbro to do something new instead of straight up rehashing G1.

At one point I did plan on getting at least one version of each of the Seekers that use that original Classics mold. And personally I believe that the Classics Seeker mold, like some of the original Classics toys, has a certain charm to it that seems like it will never fade away. But then a few years ago, I decided not to buy them, mainly because of the scale of the figures. And now after looking at the comparisons between the two, I now believe that the Classics mold is showing its age, if it hasn't already. I will always like those toys very much, even if I never had them, but at this point it's not much of a contest IMO. Even if the ER toy is similar in terms of engineering, I think overall it is the better figure. It is unfortunate that it doesn't have waist or wrist articulation, but that's no reason to pass up what I think is now the best CHUG Seeker mold. I do however think that Classics version is still a solid 2nd place.

I think you may be right. A lot of times when I encounter older figures, they cost more, and they usually reflect the prices of current Transformers figures. I will not sleep on any of the figures that I want, especially the Seekers.

The cartoon treated the tetra jets the same way. Bot mode was unmodified from earth form. I think those 3rd party bots did the same so *shrug* .. there is always OG WFC
