2.05-2.19 Mark Hamill does a decent Yoda voice.

In regards to the video overall, weird how all the men take the tweets in stride and make jokes, and all the women just lash out like they’re actually offended.

    Just an observation.

I pretty much agree. I do think TFA had a couple good moments. Mostly in the first third or so, like Finn and Poe stealing the TIE Fighter. The only scene in TLJ I find really cool is Luke showing up at the end as a projection, that was a neat idea. There are some good moments, but not a whole lot of scenes I love besides that. I don't think I fully enjoyed a single scene or set-piece in TROS. The only thing the movie really left me with was C-3PO having a few good lines here and there. But no extended scenes I'd like to rewatch. Even though the prequels have a lot of flaws, at least they have lots of rewatchable scenes in each film.

The sequels probably do have good moments. But, they don't really build up to anything at the end. They don't really make sitting through all the bad worth wild. Even the Transformers movies do that. Heck, even Solo did that. But, the Sequels certainly didn't. At least, not in my opinion.

Plus, the prequels led to awesome things like Republic Commando. Which is way better than any of the games being tossed out by EA currently. That's the biggest thing I miss about Star Wars, LucasArts.

Edit: After thinking about it for a bit, I did find the sequels entertaining. And, I did find that they are hilarious. But, I find myself not caring that they exist after watching them. I don't care about wanting to find out more about this sequel universe they have made.

Which is a huge contrast to the previous two trilogies.

I think that is why I liked the spin-offs more. Because they were focused more on expanding on what I already cared about. While the sequels don't really expand on anything. Just rehash a bunch of old things I've already seen.

I totally feel that too. I definitely can't see myself returning to the sequels very often. Like, after I rewatch TROS on home video, I can't see myself rewatching it again for another decade or so. Same with TLJ. I could see watching the first third of TFA here or there, but the ending bores me more and more on each rewatch. I'd rather just rewatch the OT, and even the prequels.

You make a good point. Despite having mixed feelings on them, the Transformers movies probably have more redeeming qualities for me. Like, as poorly-written as Cade is, I'd actually rather watch him do stuff than watch Rey. I'm not saying he's a technically better character, but he's more entertaining at least. I liked the sequel cast in TFA, but I feel like they kind of gave up somewhere in TLJ.

Well, all I have to do is point to the second films. The ending battle scenes of the Star Wars Episode 2, Transformers ROTF, and TLJ. And, I must go, The Last Jedi didn't really have much of an ending battle. It's biggest moment was Luke showing up, and that was about it. Episode 2, had a whole bunch of Clone Troopers fighting along side Jedi with all kinds of different color light sabers. All the colors of the rainbow were there. All fighting droids and bug like aliens and what not. Starting a war.

Revenge of the Fallen, it's been awhile since I've seen it, and I've only seen it once. But, I also recall that ending being pretty fun. Not nearly as good as Episode 2, but it was still great. Dark of the Moon had a pretty damn good ending Battle too. It went on a bit too long, but I still enjoyed it.

If I recall correctly, the Force Awakens actually did have quite an fun battle at the end, with Star Killer base. A lot of great things were going on there. It was a rehash of Episode 4, but it was still a fun battle. It's hard for me to say the same for the other two.

The Prequels showed us that there were quite a lot of things going on in this universe too. Jedi going away on missions, with us only getting a small glimpse of what they're doing. With the last two sequels, we pretty much only get the idea that the only thing going on in the entire universe is this Rey VS Kilo thing.

Remember when Han 'joined' the rebellion to pay off his debt? We really should have seen more things like that. With people who show us that they had/have lives going on outside what is happening in this film. The prequels did a really good job at that. At things, again, expanded upon in the games, tv shows and movies. I especially loved the games. They did an excellent way of showing the universe is bigger than the Skywalkers.

The Sequels just do the opposite. It's all the Skywalkers, and that's all that's going on in this trilogy. There were things that did get my interest in the sequels though. Like the casino scene, with the guy that looks like Gomez. We really should have seen a lot more of that. Like I said, I want to see the guy who looks like a secret agent have his own movie. I want to know what's going on his life. Is he spying on the new republic? or for the First Order? Perhaps he's a double agent.

That's the only bit that really caught my attention. And, wow did they waste that scene. So, Rose can save the horses, who were presumably recaptured in like five minutes. Being they couldn't have gotten far.

I’m honestly stunned but not surprised that some fans think that the awful CGI mess that was the final battle (actually you could say the entire final act) of AOTC was better then TLJ’s Final Act/Final Battle.

One was like a kid bashing all his toys together and making a lot of noise that I find difficult to believe was actually entertaining to anyone but the kid playing and one had actual emotional resonance and was the conclusion to basically the most important character in the franchises’ stories.

But hey, I still find it difficult to understand the hatred that some have to TLJ. Even with how bad TROS turned out, I still think it’s up there with Empire as the best Star Wars by a significant amount.

Some people find it difficult to feel the emotional resonance in a blatant ass-pull that the story hadn't previously been leading to.

I'm not really a fan of any of the battles in the ST, but i'm sure as shit not going to put over anything in AOTC or ROTS to make that point.

How do I think/like Episode 2 better than Episode 7?

Because only I, and I alone decide what it is I like, and why I like them.

    What ass-pull?
I can only imagine you mean Luke’s force projection, but Kylo did establish that was a thing earlier in the film and even said that the effort kills you.

    I will.

Specifically, the "cavalry" scene at the end of AOTC. It was pretty badass watching those dropships swoop in to save the day, and then we got to see the full force and power of the Clone army deploy at once. It was pretty satisfying to see the good guys utterly chase the previously unmatched armies of the Separatists away, and clearly marked the beginning of a new era.

In ROTS, say what you will about the overly long, dramatic final fight, but some of it was pretty good, and it served its purpose narratively. It felt like an actual, epic final duel. (except for, well, the bit where they were just spinning their lightsabers around for no reason) It at least has some meager emotional resonance.

The ST by contrast has nothing. It hasn't built up a strong enough conflict or characters for any of the battles or action scenes to feel worth a damn. That throne room fight in particular was so damn bad, and didn't even make sense. At least AOTC and ROTS had battles that felt and were genuinely pivotal.

Attack of the Clones still has my favorite scene of any, and everything Star Wars to come out before, and since. Nothing has even come close.

I can't take that seriously. The throne room duel is absolutely the best film lightsaber battle Star Wars has done. The contrast between Kylo and Rey's fighting styles, the two Jedi actually working together, something that has never properly been shown in SW up to this point, the awesome weapons of the Praetorian Guards.

So much better then long shots of CGI characters going pew pew against the other CGI characters and Jedi so massed together and drawn out that one of the main characters literally requested being given a new sabre colour because he didn't think his daughter would be able to see him in the scenes. Which is absolutely true because those scenes are literal fucking messes. They're exhausting to watch.

Worth a watch if you got a couple hours:

TL;DR RotS is the objectively better duel. Yes, even with that silly spinny bit.

I mean, my vote for "best Lightsaber duel" would either be Duel of the Fates or the, er, REAL Throne Room fight in RotJ. Granted, those aren't so much for the actual fighting itself as much as the joy of seeing Jedi and Sith in their prime, and the whole 6-part saga's overarching themes coming to a head.

I actually thought the sequel trilogy had stepped up their lightsaber duel game- particularly the breathtaking duel as directed by the masterful Rian Johnson.

And then the drugs wire off, and then I had a headache.

The throne room fight in TLJ is pretty to look at but is a very poor fight on the whole and is nothing compared to Duel of the Fates or the Mustafar duel.

Also, I love the spinning lightsaber bit in the middle. Something about it always gets me.

Anakin Vs Obi-Wan needs a bit of trimming since there’s a few stretches where they’re fighting with no score and just kinda wandering around and I get bored, but it’s still one of the absolute best lightsaber fights in the franchise. In general ROTS needs a bit of trimming, though, but that’s just me.
