This commission was requested by [IMG] (SXGodzilla) from DeviantART.

The requester wanted something conceived in the vein of Transformers: Hearts of Steel, with Grimlock arriving in the 1800s, scanning a statue of the then-inconscistent depiction of the Megalosaurus.

Design-wise, the requester wanted Grimlock based on a couple of different references. I think the face is from IDW Grimlock. The body is based on a reference image/design that I'm not familiar with; I added some slight tweaks of my own here and there. Not sure where the sword reference came from. The dino-mode was chosen by the requester.

I gave it a G1 toy box background because A) I felt it was a nice throwback to the classics, and B) it makes the glows show up on the sword better.

Let me know what you guys think. It was fun doing some classic G1 characters!

    Tools: CLIP Studio Paint EX

This is a great execution of the commissioner's request and I love that altmode for Grimlock.

Anybody coming across him in the 1800s would be horrified.
