They go on discounts sometimes. At least the regular-release/non-pbandai items.

Unfortunately, the Xamel and GM-Command are p-bandai items, so discounts on them will be a little rare and sometimes insignificant.

For the RX, it was the beam rifle and the machine gun for the Zaku II. It was such an unpleasant surprise for me and I was so cheesed off.

If I remembered correctly, the arm joint was held by a small pin(s) and I didn’t have the tools to remove it to tighten it.

Wow that's pretty surprising. I've had a loose shoulder on my 00 7 swords MSV RD but that's on a ball joint. Had no idea the mere guns on the 78/Zaku could weigh the arms down.

Yeah man, I was shocked. I seriously never expected this issue to occur. Maybe the pin wasn’t inserted properly, gravity etc.

The thing is my RX (especially so) and the Zaku can’t hold their weapons with their elbows at a 90 degree angle without sagging slowly down, down...blah!

Sorry man, just lost my cool while thinking about it. X)

Thankfully, I got a couple of Zaku IIs too. Oh yeah, for those who own a Zaku II...be careful it doesn’t take a shelf dive because the machine gun’s plastic is fragile. One of the mine took a dive and the back part is so badly stressed.

    Applied Future on 'em, yet?

I remember doing so on my Wing-RDs back in the day since their arms were sagging when holding their weapons (among other loosey-goosey stuff they had then).

They held their weapons and stuff fine ever since.

Future isn’t available in my country and tbh I’m quite wary of applying stuff on my figures.

Years back, I used nail polish on my various MG kits and whether due to the high humidity in my country or some chemical reaction, the ball-joints become er, sticky or become gummy.

Thats why when I build MG kits these days, I use Mr. Hobby rattle cans to paint coat the inner frame...the layer of paint will “tighten” the joints.

Wow thanks for the heads up, I thought that the construction and lighter weight would've helped prevent joint sagging. I'll keep that in mind if I buy them.

Bummer you guys still don't have it.

Future-polish is just awesome and very safe, ime. It's just clear and thin liquid floor-wax, fwiw. Totally magical on tightening pretty much all plastic-figures from Takara, Bandai, etc, etc.

Yeah. Nail-polish is really totally crappy in comparison.

LigerPrime's experiences may prolly just be anecdotal as mine. In my case, my ANIME-RDs haven't developed looseness/sagness-issues unlike my old RDs.

Then again, we're talking Bandai stuff. Looseness is prolly their various lines' usual middle name...

No problem man! That being said with the issues the figures are well made in terms of sculpt and articulation.

The extras included such as effect parts and weapons are a nice touch too.

I can’t recall which poster mentioned but some of the plastics used feel like model kit plastics but of a higher grade.

One has be careful in handling the figures. They aren’t as fragile as model kits but they sure aren’t as durable as the MSIA line.

If you want to get them, just get them when there’s a discount.

Missed your post! Yup, surprisingly future floor polish is unavailable in my country! An oddity since we tend to import everything and yeah, nail polish can have an adverse reaction to certain plastics.

With regards to looseness...usually Bandai’s QC is quite good but I have been noticing their QC dipping in the last 2 years? Example, there’s paint defects (I saw) for their SHF figures - in particular on some of the DB Super and Ultraman lines. This was totally unheard of previous...at least from my experience.

For the Robot Spirits line, my Char Zaku II’s legs were loose out of the box.

A typical Zaku II’s legs would slowly start sagging if one holds it horizontally. Not my Char Zaku...it will immediately frail when in a horizontal position.

I think the worst loose Rd I ever got was the cherudim saga. The ball jointed hips never held a pose at all. I'm not sure if the ball was ever touching the socket in either joint. But I think that was at the time they were experimenting with different types of plastic and obviously that one didn't work out for me.

I'm so stoked for that white wolf Zaku and Johnny Ridden's of course. Hopefully Shin's Gelgoog Jager hm will come out as well, which I don't see why we wouldn't get it at this point. Which I can only think of Garma's and Dozle's zaku variants that we are missing now. At least from what I remember from the ps2 games back in the day that I played the crap out of.

Those 0083 GM's look so amazing and I can't wait to grab a few of each. I'm kicking myself for not having put in the early pre-order for xamel. I can't believe how great it turned out, at least from the pictures I have seen. I'm definitely getting three of the tropen. I wouldn't be surprised to see a federation colors zaku II at some point. Gerbera tetra and the gelgoog Marines are what I'm waiting for them to reveal. I'm sure we'll get a FB. I mean a prototype for it was one of the first sculpts Bandai showcased at the unveiling of the Rd line. They have to come through with that at some point. Gp-03 I think is where we'll see funny business occur. I can see them doing a standard release with just the mobile suit. But I'm curious if they'll do another dx release like they did for the alvaaron with just part of the orchis or go bigger with more orchis by itself but not the entire unit like the neo zeong set or even go all in like they did with the hguc. Gp-04 if done will more than likely be an exclusive. Gato's Dom as well. But they did a standard release for his gelgoog so I'm not sure on that one. And neue ziel. I have no idea how this might end up but if done I'm definitely buying.

Back to the ew topic, I didn't get the reason why it was changed back then but I honestly couldn't argue against them then and I really can't now. I liked how Nataku refined altron back to a more streamlined design and upgraded the dragon arms. Deathscythe hell I love both forms but the ew can pull off a Batman in front of the moon. Which the gauntlets on the ew I always wanted them to emit a beam blade but that's just me I guess. Sandrock ew is easily my favorite redesign with the awesome cloak and overall aesthetic. Heavyarms was always my favorite and the upgrades to ew made it even more so. I didn't mind the change to blue from red and I loved how it still somehow retained the over the top gymnast leaps and whatnot. Wing Zero ew was so different to me but the wings were simply awesome and the main attributes remained much like the rest of the other ew designs but wing Zero this time around seemed so fragile but maybe that fixed gripes that some fans may have had that the wing designs were virtually indestructible for most of the series. And tallgeeese III seemed like a logical upgrade to the previous incarnation using the latest beam cannon and epyon's heat whip. And then perhaps my favorite grunt at least from the au side of things, the serpent. I have been begging for a figure with the full weapon load out for a long time. It'll be a fun troop builder if they ever get around to it. As for the whole anime wing idea, I'm against redoing the TV designs but I'm all for them doing an anime ew run. If anything go back and give us the virgo we never got. It was kind of an essential part of the series in my opinion. I would even be down for a metal line for ew. Hell a new evolution wing Zero ew would benefit immensely from new materials and techniques. Give the wing binders ratchets like the kshatriya has. I've had mine with the binders splayed out for months on display and they have never drooped. Seems like every wing Zero ew that I have owned has suffered from joints eventually giving out. My Rd can still hold the wings up if I balance the joints right but the slightest shift it just says no to dynamic posing and yes to gravity.

Sorry for the looking post but I'm bored at work and it's one of those stream of thought posts I'm probably notorious for now. I don't always post but when I do....

TL;DR = Loose joints suck, Ace Pilot suits rule!, More 0083 please, metal ew line anyone?

So I bought a Metal Robot Spirit Hi-Nu a few years ago and sold it off. I thought it was great but I didn’t need another line to follow already having RD and MB. I also pretty much like my Gundams on the military aside of things. So this isn’t my wheelhouse but damn I couldn’t resist this design.

    FWIW:
The RGM-79C (kai) has a completely unique elbow joint system. Where as the 79D and 79SP have a panel that folds into the arm when bending the elbow, the 79C does not. It instead has different double joint and a bigger "cut" for the joint

    same range is achieved
interesting design choice. you get to basically the same point, with one less "moving" part i guess

Scored two Dom Tropens from AmiAmi with relatively little pain, which was a nice change

Also cracked open the Xamel and fiddled with it. Truly an amazing piece, even if, in all honesty, it's a goddamn brick. It's just a gloriously ugly and intimidating brick that serves as a barely articulated turret.

The effects pieces and stand MAKE this thing dynamic, which is to their credit

    Also looks great fighting RGM79C's
