No arguments from me man. Doesn't matter if I or anyone else thinks it's too small. That's the beauty of options.

Lol yes, so only $600 for an MP grimlock instead $1000. A great deal!

I decided to combine the parts of Brut that I've gotten so far and MAN he's a big boi! He definitely won't fit in my shelves, luckily there's room in front! But for now I figured out a pretty amusing pose for him at the bottom!

Hopefully the image isn't too large, I'm not great with computer stuff. But he's actually fairly stable like this, MMC really hit him out of the park so far!

I think it’s pretty much certain they won’t be doing a toon set. It was mentioned a few times but this was purely for the toy homage as their decision declared.

Ironically, I don't care about the slippers, but would like the upgrade set gun. But, like yourself, that's all I particularly want from the upgrade set.

Unlikely. Perhaps it’d be best to search around and see if anyone is gonna part with their slippers or if someone just wants the other parts.

Sounds like the two of you should go in on a set and divvy up what each of you want.

Sometimes you can fix these on your own. I think the wires sometimes get pulled and pushed and squished during assembly, so you may be able to do something as simple as pushing a wire back into place or bend the battery connection terminals... maybe re-solder a connection. Could be the switch tho *shrug* Since you have to take the head apart to do the replacement, can't hurt to take a peek.

For me, I feel like I just keep getting spoiled by these as they come out. I only recently got constructor and he has kinda blown my mind. I still think all my smaller combiners are stunning and brave but jesus, MP-36/megatron just comes up to constructors thigh *drool* I personally DGAF about parts/pants forming. These things are fictional. How many times did we see Prime's trailer or Omega's base parts disappear and magically reappear? So why do people have such an issue with partsforming? (none of this was directed at you, just quoted in agreement with your sane post) :)

Its a little disappointing no one's recoloring their sets, I'd like a third Swindle around the same height as these guys for my own version of "Swindle, Swindle, and Swindle". Racket is too big and Sly Strike is too small. In any case, I still haven't decided whether Fraudo or Ghaz'ranka is the definitive Swindle in my collection.

i think it’s along the same lines as to why many people prefer practical SFX in films over VFX.

I can't speak for everyone else, but for me is due to the engineering... It is just so simple and boring... There is nothing to be amazed at ...

I like practical enhanced by cgi... :D
I'm one of those who doesn't get a lot of joy from transforming them... I just put them in bot or combined mode and pose 'em and take dumb pictures :/

I don’t like to mess with my big display pieces too often. My high end $1000 gokins have tons of parts and options and I barely touch them. The figures I always end up transforming the most are $10-30 figures I don’t mind tossing on a table.

Plus it’s that sentiment I personally share with designer AK, how it sucks to lose the parts you need to make a combiner. So if it’s all in one it’s fun cause you get the full deal.

Nothing dumb at all about that. There's a certain appeal at pure shelf presence regardless of engineering or "fun factor".

I think it just depends on what you are looking for in a Transformer figure. Honestly, I believe that this line of toys and "collector's items" is unique in that it has multiple aspects that appeal to different types of people. Articulation, shelf presence and paint quality, playability, engineering, etc... these are all legitimate and nobody should be shamed for what they like.

As someone else has pointed out (and I probably have repeated), the engineering required to build triple changers and combiners that look good in all modes is just more impressive to me than a combiner where the leader bot turns into a cube that plugs into a torso with thighs that does little else in other modes. Of course, there are sacrifices, and due to the fewer moving parts of torso parts-forming, it's going to be more stable at a larger scale than other combiners. That's impressive too. As an engineer myself though, I'm more impressed by the design work of MMC OX (and designer AK) for pulling off figures that work well in all 3 modes.

It's kinda crazy to me that my 3/5 complete Assaultus with one leg is miles more stable than the fully complete Jinbao OS combiners I have at the same scale. Those figures want to tip over when I give them a stern look, while Assaultus stands there with one leg in disgust.

I've got the Jinbao set (and Warbotron) and I can sure believe that. I found my Warbotron figures are a lot more stable/higher quality while the OS Jinbao was cheap and... cheap. You got what you paid for and several of the Jinbao figures have floppy legs that don't set well.
I am definitely impressed with what I've seen of the MMC set so far, though.

Wow. That’s quite something. Man seeing him up straight really does make the silver look so strong and powerful.

I did take a look, yeah... looked to me like the switch was jammed. Tried dislodging it but that didn’t help. Would probably take some work to fix I don’t consider myself experienced enough in to do.
