Hard to say, no real precedent for either BotCon or Takara Generations Selects doing a redeco of a Titan....

Hasbro did SDCC Titans...so I'd assume they aren't off the table for convention exclusives. It's just probably a bigger gamble on cost.

All Generations Selects figures are pretty much Takara and Hasbro releases versions of toys that BotCon would have done.

If we got Grand Maximus, we will get Black Zarak. And we don't need a convention or club to get it. Never reissued, laden with GPS, and prominent role. He's guaranteed to sell enough units. I want one badly.

Grand Maximus, while a valid precedent to demonstrate existence, may also cut the other way... After all, it didn't do as well as hoped in the pre-order department, gaining enough to get made, but not enough to include the "Pretender."

(And that was a fairly low threshold, IMHO, at only 3,000 units)

It was also a repaint of what was arguably the weakest of the Titan molds

With all the g1 reissues that are hitting the stores it would allow an offical convention to repaint them. Like a black Hotrod, magenta Hotrod, G1 Shattered Glass, minibots in new colors, or run the G1 seeker mold in the missing colors. I would also like to see Botcon use the animated molds to finish the seekers, give us Wasp (car mode) and Cliffjumper. As for the packaging, I really like the Machine wars box set, with packaging inspired from the toylines they are adding to.

I'd be shocked if it was FunPub, if they were able to ''get the band back together'' after a few years of everyone going their own ways. Then again, if it's like in the beginning, it wouldn't necessarily be a full-time gig.

I was only ever able to make it to one Botcon (2016) but had a great time and didn't personally have any problems with Fun Pub (although I can understand a lot of the hate). If this all pans out and Botcon is coming back, I'm hoping for east coast shows (Cleveland would be ideal, as it'd only be a half an hour drive for me).

I'm starting to think more and more that Botcon will now be Hasbro's main Transformers convention since Hascon's now a thing of the past from the recent news. If so then hey I'm all for it as long as it hits around the East Coast and not too expensive to go to. If they're going to have exclusives also I hope it'll be on par with Select Series in terms of having reasonable prices.
