Huh, odd.

 

Maybe it's the extra piece for those who want "Decepticon Megatron" but I also think it's spare parts when you lose one. Bandai does this too with new kits because they just charge you per plastic runner.

 

Maybe they upped the price because idw megs doesn't have the same repaint potential than prime? I mean prime has sg, nemesis, and who knows what other varients for FT to profit from, whilst this megs doesn't really have any easy repaint potential. The best I can think of for any additional profit from this mold is if they heavily remold it for another character design.

 

Going by bandai’s model kit way I assume , not too sure about other plamo companies prices , which differs from tf general retail figures . Cost by amount of plastic/parts count sold instead of size classification . At least that’s the impression I’m under , with bee and drift being the most expensive out of their model kits so far .

 

I'm only partly glad that he has not shipped yet, because I have a massive backlog of gunpla to get done.  

 

Well...I was getting itchy and nothing much was garnering my attention... and I'd been reading a lot of MTMTE/LL... and so... one of these is shipping to me as of now. My first robot model kit (I've made models in the past just not giant robots).. should be interesting!

I really do love this Optimus Model. I need to get off my ass and paint it, though.

 

Quick question since the thread was bumped. I remember seeing a SG OP from the model kits. When is that supposed to come out? While I think the mold is a bit skinny, I think having the evil OP look like that fits.

 

Dang I forgot about that. I’d imagine it’ll be a while.

 

My meager skills at work. I like him. His head (and chest if you don't use the stickers) need the most work.

 

It is painted, as it is red out of the box. The reason for this is that the actual Autobot symbol that is inclided, (not the one I used, which is a reprolabel) covers the whole red block.

 

The green circled part? Colour separated part .

 

Good choice on the logo. They’re expensive sets but well designed.
