Hate to break it to you but megatron will never ever be a walther p38 again or any type of gun unless it a futuristic gun or a made up gun like his nerf gun from classics, unless its another g1 masterpiece toy
If hasbro wants reuse the g1 design he'll have to be a tank or a jet

That guy is still reacting with crazyness to my comments.
And others are hounding me with nonsense.
Some people really can't handle it when someone doesn't share their opinion.

In any case, seeing as Zodiac was such a great thriller I trust James Vanderbilt will deliver a great BW movie.
And since in Zodiac at least he was able to look outside the box there's little chance that he'll turn to the dumpsterfire that Code of hero was for inspiration.

I expect the Beast Wars movie to either never get made, or be another movie with a Beast Wars coat of paint.

Like picture it. A group ofr 30 something teenagers invent time travel and go back in time to the Beast Wars and it's a frat boy comedy set in the BEast Wars

One-shot comics that rely heavily on the existing storyline and specifically cater to hardcore fans by using obscure characters are an entirely different animal from a 2 hour movie for general audiences.

Have you read the Spotlights? Half of them aren't even really "about" the title character, they're just the POV character as the plot works its way through another bit of the ongoing story.

Or the X-men films for that matter.

A gun would be super tiny. He’d get squashed like a bug.

I was going to reply to this, but this guy already said it well enough, so:

Don't be rude about what other people like and you won't get rudeness in return.

I'm also going to go ahead and laugh my ass off at the irony of a total G1 fanboy saying that BW fans are the entitled ones.

He could change into a large oversized gun as a gag, or have an gigantic over sized gun prop and have him comment on it being ridiculous as a nod to G1. I think Megatron tank is always best due to stories in IDW.

Like some are saying here,it's mostly because of how the Bay movies have put a lot people off for so long that they'll reject/denounce any future TF movies 100% despite the Bumblebee movie giving back a lot of faith for plenty of fans. On one hand I can understand not wanting to see BW get tarnished big time but on the other hand I think it's too soon to say that the BW movie will end up being terrible because of these three factors.

    1. Bay's no longer involved in TF movies. This is a big one because since TLK Bay's said he's finished with the movie franchise big time and he meant it. So that alone is a big indicator that BW won't have a lot of his trademark traits.

    2. Hasbro will have a lot more involvement this time. Hasbro's also made it clear that they'll have more involvement with a lot of their media including the movies so they'll make sure no questionable choices will be made.

    3. Paramount is firmly intent on being on the path Bumblebee had placed down. With Bee being a hit Paramount has made it known that they'll keep on the path Bumblebee has placed down which means they'll retain what made the movie work(Hopefully.).

So again I get people's concerns but I also think we should reserve our worst fears until we get more news. Besides one of the writers mentioned here has a good movie on their belt so that's a start. Like how the writer of Bumblebee had a few miss but the Bumblebee movie is one of her hits so hopefully the same is done here.

Why do you keep asking me questions if you can't handle my answers?

I advice you to make some alterations to the way you reply to people.
It's high time you were more respectful to people, because your behavior isn't doing you any favors.
I've noticed before that you have a hard time discussing a topic without resorting to insults.
    As for your delusional ideas:

While I do not disagree with your reasoning, I do not agree with your conclusions, mostly because each of of those points has a potentially major caveat:

    1. Bay may no longer be involved, but that doesn't immediately mean an increase in quality. Sure his particular flavour or crap may be gone, but there's plenty of other bad directors out there.

    2. Hasbro's involvement is not necessarily a good thing. Yes, it could mean the franchise will be treated more faithfully, but it's not like Hasbro has had the greatest idea of what makes Transformers good story-wise. Their current attitude allowed Cyberverse to happen, after all. They're a toy company, not a media studio, no matter how much they try and become one, and they seem more concerned with keeping the brand's superficial identity synergized than allowing for creative freedoms.

    3. Bee was a critical success, but a financial non-event. If Paramount is smart they'll realize TLK was more the reason Bumblebee meandered at the box office rather than the film's quality, but this is the same studio that let TLK be produced after all. Plus their very first announcement for the Beast Wars movie was revealing a writer whose credits include several very awful films. If they had the good sense toy and me thought they did following Bumblebee, they wouldn't be hiring someone with a rack record like that.

I'm starting to believe more and more that Bumblebee was a fluke, saved only by a genuinely passionate director and truly committed writer who salvaged what should have been a train wreck into something sweet and endearing. But neither of those responsible parties are back, and in their place so far are... well, no one so far in Knight's case, and the aforementioned TASM's 1/2 writer.

Keep those expectation heavily tempered is all I'm saying, because I truly believe our most realistic hope is for the Beast Wars movie is for it not to be made. Not because I don't want one, but because Paramount has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that quality storytelling is not their goal, and quality storytelling is unarguably Beast Wars' entire appeal.

No kidding. What are we on now, the fifth G1 reboot in Generations straight so far?

I realize you're not big on opinions that differ from your own, but I have a hard time believing anyone that actually watched Beast Wars from the beginning would be able to say "Code of Hero" was a dumpster fire. I was in my mid thirties the first time I saw it and I literally cried through the last few minutes of it. It was one of the better bits of story telling that Transformers has ever given us, but only within the context of where it came from and where it ended up. That is to say, without the buildup of the entire series up to that point, it would have been a throw-away bit of nothing because there would be zero stakes in the end fight. If you see that episode in isolation after being told how amazing it was, I can understand how you have the stance you have. It was both the strength, and the weakness of Beast Wars that it depended on keeping up with the plot to truly appreciate the massive stakes they were dealing with in any given situation.

That said, Code of Hero can not be the basis of a movie without having some sort of build up prior to it. Maybe a Code of Hero level sacrifice could be made somewhere down the line if the first Beast Wars movie actually works out and builds a following. No way it'd succeed right off the bat. It'd be like trying to kill Tony Stark in the first Iron Man. Who would care?
