The insurance also covers your own ass when/if it gets lost in the mail. Otherwise you’d be out $130 for Hound plus the shipping cost. I returned an eBay purchase to Hong Kong once, the postage was $35 or $70 with insurance. I went with $35 to save money but the package never resurfaced out of customs. Gone. I was out the $35 AND the cost of the thing I was trying to return too. Don’t do what I did. Always go with insurance if AmJp is willing to cover the cost.

Here's the screw I loosened up, just a quarter turn. Ymmv on how tight your joint is. I just moved the screw a hair at a time until I could move the launcher assembly freely. I couldn't budge it before to swing it around over his shoulder.

It's also where a lot of member's Hound's are cracking on that armature. Where I'm pointing at with the screwdriver.

Some members have already came up with a fix if this part cracks or if you want to prevent it from cracking. Hope this helps. It's been covered over the last 5 or 6 pages or so.

    I think @Shunwei has a point:
    And I quote that.

@Shunwei I do understand the points your making, and I don't disagree that there's been a run of quality issues in the most recent MP releases that have reached an unacceptable level. I also don't disagree that a drop in sales figures could influence Takara-Tomy toward evaluating any decisions that have in full or in part caused these issues in quality and making changes accordingly.

I'm also aware that Takra-Tomy does follow up on issues like these as evidenced by past circumstances which others have mentioned in this thread and others on the board.

All that said, however, I do disagree with your use of the word scandal in this context.

    From Merriam-Webster:
scandal noun (entry 1 of 2)
1 a : a circumstance or action that offends propriety or established moral conceptions or disgraces those associated with it
b : a person whose conduct offends propriety or morality a scandal to the profession

2 : loss of or damage to reputation caused by actual or apparent violation of morality or propriety : disgrace
3 : malicious or defamatory gossip

4 : indignation, chagrin, or bewilderment brought about by a flagrant violation of morality, propriety, or religious opinion

5a : discredit brought upon religion by unseemly conduct in a religious person

b : conduct that causes or encourages a lapse of faith or of religious obedience in another

scandal verb (entry 2 of 2)
1 chiefly dialectal : defame, slander
    2 obsolete : disgrace

The quality issues that plague MP-47 could be considered a disgrace to Takara-Tomy, and disgrace can be connected to scandal. Scandal, however, very specifically involves actions in violation of moral behavior. That's not an accurate description of what appears to be an unintended materials defect in the manufacturing of a toy.

I would not be surprised if it’s a scandal in my opinion. Rising costs with tainted QC and Hound’s materials are not up to par for an almost $200 figure. Something is not right. But oh well. Like I said, my first copy is fine but the second one snapped.

A valid complaint aside from the probable bad choice of ABS/PVC materials is the choice of painting his thighs instead of releasing it with molded dirty white green gray. Every time I pose him, I get paint scratches.:(

I do not understand one thing, in the commercial invoice they give you for printing, put this address that you say, but then on the same page it says that they will not accept returns directly to that address, am I getting it right?

I believe that means, if you're local, you can't just hand deliver the package to that address. It must be mailed back.

Got my Hound. Will be on his way on Friday. VERY low expectations again. I'll survive.

Are you rotating the thighs before rotating the hips out to the side? If you use the thigh rotation it keeps the painted thigh further away from the black hip skirts. That’s what I’ve been doing.

I also manually flip up the side skirts before rotating the leg to the side. Much like MP-41 Dinobot if you’re careful with how you move the thighs they won’t get scratched as easily.

    How so?

I agree that something’s not right. Something at the factory level, be it carelessness or industrial espionage by KO companies (if you want a conspiracy theory, there you go), but a scandal this does not make.

    Ebay:
Well those terrible 3rd party companies that get their stuff made at the same factories are slipping bills to the plastic chemical experts to mess with the formula a little bit. Then slipping some more bills to the painters to make a few chips here and there to add additional flaws to these expensive high end collectibles.

Hell they probably would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for us meddling with their plans.
