I'd love it if the Beast Wars movie took more cues from Beast Wars II than from the original show. Dispense with the time travel, set the movie on Earth of the far future, after humanity has gone extinct/left the planet.

I have this feeling the Beast Wars movie is just going to be Grimlock and the G1 Dinobots vs G1 Predacons/Predaking and the Insecticons. It is an isolate war between beasts and no vehicles.

Hahahaha those writing credits oh God help me to think Bumblebee actually gave me hope for the future once.

I’ll believe a Beast Wars movie happens when I see a fucking trailer. Not buying that for a second it’s legit, just spitballing and tall tales as far as I’m concerned.

One mention is not enough to get excited that we're getting a BW movie.
We've been told we'd get a sequel to TLK too once.
But if we are getting a BW movie that would be very exciting.

I hope they don’t do a Beast Wars movie. I was a big fan of the line along with Beast Wars II and Neobeast Wars and collected all of them plus convention exclusives in the 90’s. I’m just afraid that they are going to add human characters to the storyline. They need to keep it computer animated and 300 years in the future of Cybertron and then Earth’s past. I unfortunately think that they will make it modern times and have human characters taking care of the Maximals in a modern day zoo.

I'm hoping one is a sequel to Bumblebee that is still set in the 80's so we can get the classic G1 looking Autobots and Decepticons.

Beast Wars. Really? That's actually pretty intriguing. I've never watched it since I'm a die-hard Geewunner but I've heard a lot of interesting things from that show and I think it could have serious potential if done well. Plus the single biggest selling point: no focusing on the stupid human characters while sidelining the robots. Unless they're stupid and change the setting to modern time of course.

I'm also cautiously hopeful that the Bumblebee follow up may be good but I'm not terribly optimistic. Bumblebee got enough wrong that it feels like it could have easily stumbled into being another stupid Bay movie - I worry that it may have been a fluke rather than evidence of Paramount actually figuring out how to movie.

Sadly, I doubt anyone in Hollywood would greenlight a film without human characters...
Unfortunately, it will probably get set in the present, and we'll probably have fleshlings riding the beasts around/getting attacked or eaten like Kong or Jurassic Park at best,
Scooby Doo or Denver the Last Dinosaur at worst.

Oh God you’re probably right. Oh shit you’re probably really right.

After all, Paramount loves making the Transformers into pets. Just an excuse to have them act more the part by making them actual animals.

Oh damn, what if they keep the rule about no talking in alt mode?

Just looked up Zodiac and remembered that I really liked that movie, so that's looking good for the James Vanderbilt written movie.

A Bumblebee sequel seems like a no-brainer after the success of the first but the news of a possible Beast Wars movie is a very nice surprise. I'm cautiously optimistic about both!

As someone who grew up with Beast Wars and who adores it to this day, of course I'm excited by this news. But as someone who also adores Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who, and who has been devastated by the vandalizations of those franchises at the hands of incompetent leadership...Well, let's just say I'm not ready to pop the quark on the champagne just yet.

James Vanderbilt is writing the Beast Wars movie.

Damn, those other articles are so full of useless fluff, and the TFW news post fails to mention which one of them is doing which movie, only mentioned in this article.

I feel like the BW movie may be that thing that was rumored to come to Netflix. And if that's the case, I'm not mad at all about it.
It'll probably be animation and not live action. Which I am also fine with. Vanderbilt has written some standalone fun/goofy/action/thriller movies which I feel embodies Beast Wars well enough that I trust him with the property.
Very much looking forward to this.

So, either they're jumping ahead to Beast Wars, the story of which requires the existence of some sort of G1 before it, or they're attempting to build the future of their franchise using as foundation a movie that didn't even know if it was a prequel or reboot to the Bayverse until after it came out. None of the two options seem to serve the story of the Transformers. Why the hell not just properly reboot and take it from the start and build up to Beast Wars when the story is told and the foundation is set?

Despite everything and how very wrong this could be that... that does put a smile on my face.
