Considering that my last post was in July for this dude and yours (Koonfasa) was in December, I don't think people are thinking about this dude too much. He was on sale at BBTS also. I'll get him when he is on sale again, hopefully
It looks great, but for the price, I'd say the Toys Alliance MAS-01 version has more oomph for your money.
9 inches tall from what I read and scales well with MP from the video review. So MP size, where as that other one is 18 inches tall?
That's fine. What was being discussed was the price. In any case, people can buy what they want with their money and what's good for their own collection.
Mmm no, the flow of the conversation was: Discussion about price, with your recommendation for another figure of similar price that, upon examination, appears to be a completely different scale than the figure this thread is about. My observation that that other figure is roughly twice the size and therefore not in the same scale. No disagreement was made regarding the price, just the observation that the scale is totally different. And scale is generally a key factor for consideration whena customer is looking for an appropriate figure for their collection. As is the case in my search for a highly posable MP-scale OP that led me to this thread. If your recommended alternative had been in the same scale, it would have actually been a relevant suggestion. Your response to my comment about the scale being different was just a question that appeared to be asking what size the Ori Toy figure is. I answered that it is roughly MP scale, while the other figure that you recommended appears to be about twice the size So your latest reply is sort of missing the point to point back to price, which i think you realize. Then you state that "people buy what they want" comment as if anyone had said otherwise. If anything, that just furthers my point that people buy what fits their collection. And which is more likely to "fit a collection", a figure that is the same scale but costs a different price, or a figure that costs the same price but is in a completely different scale? Yes, price is a factor when comparing similar products but when they aren't even in the same scale, that's rarely going to be a typical comparison. But if we're being honest here, typically a collector has a particular size scale in mind before they start looking for products that might fit the need. It would seem strange and much less common to find someone simply looking for the largest figure they can buy for the dollar, rather than the best figure they can afford to fit a specific shelf or collection.
Okay, though, some collectors collect the character. Not necessarily the scale. And you do have a point with scale. Like I said, buy it if you have the money. Otherwise, the MAS-01 is cheaper, though, as you have mentioned, a whole lot bigger.
Im super late into this figure. I was waiting for a black repaint forever, guess that's not going to happen. I was debating between hero prime and toy alliance prime. Its true alliance prime more worth in size and just about everything. But that size can be a drawback too. I like messing with my figures so i end up buying hero prime. He's really expensive but in the few days i had him i've handled him more that some figures i had for years. His size made him more compatible (relatively) with other figures. BUT here are some of the stuff i hate about him ... no extra head ... no extra hands ... no axe. As an action figure he failed horribly in accessories department. Also an instruction sheet showing all the joints would be nice. I still can't figure out if there's a ratchet wrist for the fear of breaking it. Oops i almost forgot .... BEST PAINT JOB ever.
Did just order the figure since he was on sale, with the megs gun which is cheaper now then the regular version.deff dont have space for that alliance one
I know this thread hasn't seen any action in a while but thought I'd give it a shot. I'm thinking of getting the Ori Toy Optimus on sale but am considering the pre-order version with the Megatron gun for significantly higher price. (Pics with the Megatron gun are really cool.) I do however have an MP scaled Megatron gun from MP13 Soundwave. My question for those who own an Ori Toy Optimus and MP13: Does the MP-13 Soundwave's Megatron gun fit in Ori Toy OP's hand (with or without stock)? If so, I could kill two birds with one stone and save some money. Thanks!
I'll try it when I get home later but I don't see why it wouldnt fit, pretty sure that the handle of the gun he comes with is wider than the MP Megatron gun so he should grab it without issue.
Thanks for showing this! Yes, I think it's fine for a display pose. Saves me some money Nice background by the way! Is it Toyhax or Extreme Sets?
