I want to see Optimus become Powermaster Optimus Prime and fight Overlord and also Nightbeat, Siren, Dreadwind and Darkwing. And the Motorvators. And Turbomasters.

 

I luv Five Faces of Darkness (FFOD). I think it being based on a scrapped movie script made it feel like a movie but with tv budget and could really serve as a nice sequel to the TF the Movie. It's too bad that Season 3 didn't have a set of episodes again after FFOD that finishes all the plot threads and character arcs in a climactic way, otherwise we could've gotten a nice trilogy of movie-like experience.

 

If they could remaster ffod as a movie and make a third movie in the Style of the movie like the Netflix anime movies, that'd be great. Put them in a steelbook as a trilogy and I'd be happy.

 

Only just saw this thread. I'd be happy to support this if the animation is remade by Toei. Season 3 was by far my favourite out of G1. Despite some of the continuity issues, in my opinion it still had some of the strongest stories, themes, character development and additions to the lore out of the whole show (maybe not including Primacron). And when Toei handled the animation for the few episodes they did, it really shined (along with that random studio that did Call of the Primitives). What really let the series down was embarrassingly poor animation by Akom across the majority of episodes coupled with episodes like Carnage in C Minor.

FFOD definitely has the potential to be something awesome. Even just picturing the introductions of Metroplex and Trypticon with animation that doesnt look like it was drawn by an 8 year old makes me want to support this. My concern would be the voice actors, Dick Gautier and Roger C Carmel as Rodimus and Cyclonus in particular are irreplaceable in my eyes. I think both voice actors that played Kup have passed away also. I don't know if it would be better to try to reuse the original recordings where possible or try and find sound-alikes. Definitely interested to see how this project develops if it gets enough backing and gets off the ground.

 

I would like to see not just a re-make; but a masterpiece. (In other words.....in a toy analogy....not a 1980's g1 toy....but a modern 2020's masterpiece interpretation of the g1 toy). It should be faithful as possible to original plot; but the animation is clean, consistent in scale and look of characters, realistic looking adult art, rather than cartoony kids art, and with a smart and complex plot that can expand on the original plot....filling in gaps in stories.....oh and lots of super action fight scenes....
Heck! Why not a complete re-do of all of g1...
As a masterpiece animation.....from more than meets the eye to beyond re-birth....
Filled with detailed history of past cybertronian eras to explain the stories....and lots of politics between transformers and humans and alien civilizations.....

It should be rated R... on account of all the action (and thus violence and death and tragedy). And political controversial themes might also not be suitable for children or many adults. And there might even be sexual things too that make it rated R....eg spike and carly might get intimate......or some autobots and female autobots might even have relations...

What exactly offends you people about the rated R idea? It can't be the super action. Its probably the politics or the sex stuff right?

 

You can have super action without it being rated R. To me, Transformers doesn't need to be Deadpool-style rated R to be satisfying. Nor should it be in terms of the kiddos who might watch it. The Bay films were borderline R-rated as it was - I don't think I want that and more in a cartoon.

 

I would rather see a movie length version of the S2 episode B.O.T. than a redux of FFoD.  

Seriously though, for that amount of effort and money I'd rather see a new movie with a story unrelated to any of the G1 episodes.
