I definitely would like to pick up one or two of these (TMNT, Marvel and Golden Axe interest me). Waiting for a sale.

They will go into attract mode from the game you select. It won't do it from the menu system.

Anyone looking for a good sale, the Wave 2 Galaga and Pac-man machines that come with the custom risers are showing up at TJ Maxx for $140 each. Also, the Countercades are showing up for $80.

Wow! I didn't know that Walmart sold these. Prices seem fair to me. When I save enough money, I'll pick up Galaga and Pac-Man. My dad used to play a lot of Pac-Man back in the day.

Like I said, beware wave 1 cabs. There's a couple of options for Pac-Man and Galaga that will be better quality (at least they will come with updated PCB boards, volume control and panel protectors).

    Wave 2 Pac-Man/Pac-Man Plus w/custom riser
    Wave 2 Galaga/Galaxian w/custom riser
Pac-Man/Galaga/Galaxian Partycade Home Shopping Network exclusive (although the sound on Galaga is messed up)
    Pac-Man cocktail - 3 versions
-----Sam's Club version has six PacMan games and two stools (rough play still seems to affect the stock joystick if my experience with a floor model means anything)
-----Regular edition that has no stools but also includes Dig Dug and Galaga
-----Black Edition exclusive to the A1U website that also includes Dig Dug and Galaga
    Pac-Man/Pac-N-Pal Countercade
    Galaga/Galaxaian Countercade

    Coming soon:
Wave 3 40th Anniversary Pac-Man in woodgrain finish with the six Pac-Man games and Galaga (no Dig Dug)

Have they announced when the updated versions of the wave 1 cabs will be released?

As of right now, the only games being revisited from wave 1 PacMan and Galaga on that single 40th Ann. PacMan cab.

I assume there will be more Atari cabs eventually since they announced an exclusive partnership for 3/4 cabs. Meanwhile, AtGames announced a partnership with Taito.

I saw the MK one at Walmart today and I don't know what the appeal is. If you're playing with a buddy you're gonna be bumping into each other constantly and when I tried standing in front of it I had to become a hunchback to get at the proper level. Seems like it would be super uncomfortable for people on the taller side and I'm only 5'10.

I've played with friends before on mine with no problems. And I'm a broad shouldered 5'9.5". Rampage gets crowded with three though. Doable tho.

I bit the bullet and got the Marvel Special Edition. Amazing decision, it is incredible. I love both MSH and Children of the Atom, and Punisher is surprisingly fun too.

Scored a "repackage" PacMan countercade from Target. Nothing wrong with it other than the packaging was slightly damaged. Talked a manager down to $100 and then used a $75 gift card. After using my Red Card, I walked away with it for $31 after tax - quite a steal compared to when these things first hit stores at $199.99.

If you look at it online, you'll notice the screen is small. It's not a big issue to me but others might feel differently. The most notable difference between my large PacMan cab and this one is the springs in the joystick. They feel like 4 lbs springs - quite hefty for Pac-Man. This causes me to miss the occasional turn or be unable to muster a turnaround as fast as I'm used to. But it's still a fun little unit - and one that's portable so if I want to take it to a party, I can easily.

Word on the street is that A1U is producing new countercades this year that will be slightly smaller (1" less screen size too) but will retail at $99.99.

Lots of great stuff hitting stores now. The above mentioned countercades are currently available in Ms Pacman and Pac-Man 40th anniversary styles with four games apiece for $150 at Walmart. Reviews have been good for them. QVC also has them but only with two games and at $112 each. Frogger is also soon showing up as a countercade with Time Pilot.

Super tempted on the Ms Pac Man 3/4 at Best Buy with the lighted marquee. The game line up is Ms PacMan/Galaxian/Dig Dug/Super PacMan. $450 feels a bit much, though, when my Arcade Legends Ultimate was $600, which I can load UCEs off a thumbdrive to add another several hundred games off on to. Mostly, I'd be buying it for the furniture...

My wife got a Paypal notification.

"Did you buy something from Q-V-C??"

    "Yeah."

    No further questions were asked.

Update on the Attack From Mars. Disappointing news:

    Attack from Mars™
    Fish Tales™
The Getaway™ is actually The Getaway: High Speed II™
    Junk Yard™
    Medieval Madness™
    White Water™
    Red & Ted™ is actually Red & Ted's Road Show™
Funhouse™ HAS BEEN REMOVED AND REPLACED FOR Hurricane™
    Tales of the Arabian Nights™
    No Good Gofers™

The removal of Funhouse is pretty darn disappointing...

These Pinball machines are still out of my price range, but I might make save up more of an effort if they came out with one with "Bride of Pin-Bot", "Xenon", and the two Elvira games. On an unrelated topic, I was super bummed out when "Pinball Arcade" lost the license to all the above in the last few years.
