If it's confirmed there are discernible improvements with the 2nd batch I might bite...or I could stop buying two of everything like a chump! Nothing in the above video seems any different to my eye. Very happy with the original, probably my favourite figure if 2019, just a shame about the paint chipping issues.

I must say this figure looks awesome. I’m really just a G1 collector but I may get this if you guys would recommend it.

I purchased a lot of great figures this past 2019 from FT, MMC and TT mostly. This thing has a shelf presence all it's own. It tops my list as best purchase of 2019 and I cant recomend it enough.

Thanks for the recommendation. Beast wars was kind of after my time. I never really got into it much. However I did like and own some of the transmetals at the time. TM2 Megatron was one of them. This looks like a perfected version. Gonna put in my preorder now.

I should have complimented your collection. Looks awesome!

Also, are there any other MP Transmetals in the works either from Takara or 3P?

Thank you sir I appreciate that. It really is one of the highlights of my display.

As stated above Tigerhawk is the next figure from the same company. They're also supposed to be doing a repaint of Winged Dragon as RID Cryotek as well.

I’m really looking forward to their tigerhawk, it’s one of my most anticipated 3p figures

The purple paint scheme looks even better. I may have to get that one too! I’ll keep an eye out for Tigerhawk as well. I’m a bit excited about collecting something different. Starting to get a bit tired of G1. I feel like I’ve been so close to finishing my G1 collection for so long but nobody seems to be interested in making the last few characters I want.

I think I may have to order the Beast Wars DVDs. As I said before, I was never really into the show. But this conversation has created an interest for me to watch it.

That desire for something different is exactly why I’ve been enjoying collecting the t-beast designs and stuff that can be repurposed for a ghostbusters crossover collection

You should, it’s a great series even if you’re not necessarily a fan of organic beast transformers, the voice acting and story is great

Season 1 can be a bit goofy and stand alone at times but those episodes help with the character development. Season 2 and season 3 are great and honestly I even think beast machines is worth a watchafter beast wars

Thanks again for the info. Checking out DVD sets on Amazon now.

I know I’m stating what is already obvious to the people posting in this thread, but this figure is gorgeous. I just watched the Sun of the Empire video on this. Wow! This almost shames the G1 stuff I have. Don’t get me wrong, G1 will forever be my favorite, but this looks like a beautiful, well made piece of art.

No doubt friend, the organic nature of Beast Wars really brings something different to the display. My first love of the franchise will always be G1 and for the longest time in my youth I avoid Beast Wars due to the mindset that they weren't "real" Transformers. Luckily I met a fellow fan that was a bit older and opened my eyes to how awesome the series was.

Hopefully TT completes all the first season characters and perhaps some more 3P take the plunge and start filling out the non show and later season characters as as well.

He still sort-of fits into a G1 collection (sort of) inasmuch as his creation/upgraded form occurred in pretty much THE most G1-related part of the series. :)

So strange. I felt the same way. I felt that they weren’t ‘real transformers’ too. But it seems that beast wars has a pretty large following in its own right. I plan on giving the series a try.

I knew there were som G1 references in beast wars but didn’t know if there were a few or a lot. I’ll have to watch and see for myself. I guess my favorite transformer of all is in the series which is really cool. I hated when Starscream died in the movie, but I was happy to see him back as a ghost and then get his body back while knifing Unicron in the back. Such a self centered scoundrel. I’ll have to see how he treats his predacon cousins in beast wars.

Good deal man I dont think you'll be disappointed. There is quite a substantial portion of the fan base that still loves the series thanks to the world building the series gave to the franchise. Quite a few ideas that are common place today originated from the series like the idea of sparks and protoforms. Definitely try and avoid spoilers and just enjoy the magic as it unfolds on the screen.

And try not to let anyone get you down about the series as there's a substantial amount of card carrying "Trukk not Munky" members out there.
