Would love to see pics of the shoulder and leg panels in some different orientations. The pics so far don't look "great", and wondering if (at least the shoulders) can sit differently.

Some quick pictures before I head to the in-laws' place for Chinese New Year shenanigans.

The size is kind of wonky, as he's too tall for Legends, but too short for CHUG. Maybe he can fit into a Legends+ display. Size comparison with Siege Optimus.

@itMFtis I've included a shot showing how far back the shoulders panels can go. It's that, on the sides or facing forwards. As for the leg panels, you can either have them curved like I do, or straight up and down. The panels on the forearms can be flat against the arm, or curved out as much as you like, but too much of a curve leaves a huge gap between them and the arm.

I have to head out in a hurry, but I just got him in the mail and I’ve had about 20 minutes with him, this is the best photo I can do at the moment. This ain’t it, my dudes. Also: weird hands.

He just... I don’t know. He doesn’t fit anywhere. He is so close to being a really great figure, but the ways that he fails are really huge. He has diecast, he has good proportions, good quality, holds together well.. he has a very straightforward transformation... but this size doesn’t fit anywhere! What were they thinking? He’s the perfect size for that Scout-Class, IDW-themed collection that nobody has because it doesn’t exist.

His head is on an excellent ball joint and he has rocker ankles, but he has no wrist articulation. That’s extra weird, considering that his hands are like, 50% wrist. He seriously has hands like a fat baby. His backpack isn’t horrible, but one more hinge would have put it flat on him and as it stands, he’s carrying a card table on his back.

This entire project needed better direction, because this is not a win for anyone. If this is what $40 got us, then I’d happily have given Daban $80-$100 to have gotten this right. It’s very frustrating, because it’s Optimus fucking Prime and every 3P is pulling each other off over endless MP G1’s and so many of us can’t get a decent, MMC-scaled modern version. If this guy was as big as Orion with a flat back and proper hands with wrist articulation he’d be my 2020 MVP.

Finally managed to find this thread.

I only found out about this figure a couple days ago from an Instagram post. It seems really interesting and reading through the feedback from this thread it seems like the biggest flaw with this guy is his size. He truly doesn't fit anywhere. I guess if you just like this design of Optimus Prime and don't mind a standalone piece, he looks great.

Here are some photos as posted on tformers.

    Found this on the 'tubes:

So I guess my main thing is that he's a bit finnicky in both modes. The reviewer points out there are points in the transformation that seem too tight for comfort.

He's also really lanky...which I don't dislike but maybe not in the optimus colors? I dunno. Anyone remember the animation style of Phantom or Aeon Flux, super-lanky animanga wierdness? That's kinda what he reminds me of.

Gonna have to wait this one out to see if after a couple of weeks I'm still itchin' for an oddball proportioned OP that just kinda hangs out.

Just ordered this one myself. Been wanting a Prime right in this size to go with my IDW Chug stuff and I’m down for the aesthetics. Hopefully he arrives quickly.

I think his sizing looks kinda charming. Like an Orion Pax. I kinda want one for that purpose, now that I think about it.

Will probs pick this guy up. Thinking I have the perfect spot for him. I have the Zeta legends bar set up with the Maketoys manga minibots, RTS Cyclonus with the maketoys idw kit and the TVM os ko of Iron Factory Starscream. Should look good with MT Green Giant too. (I gave him a Prowlastator head.)

Mine broke on day 1 when I was trying to pull the front grill during transformation. The whole front face of the cab snapped right off at the screw.

I'm ok with it tho. The thing still pegs securely under the windows in alt mode and it fits snug enough in bot mode when you wedge it under the wind vane so I'm not too worried. Still sux tho.

He's bigger. I can take pics later but definitely doesn't scale.

Here are the vehicle size comparisons. 1/55 seems to be best fit.
