Smart Hulk wasn't much of a team player as I recall. I want to say things ended poorly for the Pantheon.

Doomsday Clock Just Teased A Future Marvel/DC Crossover

Some fans think marvel and dc are hinting at a crossover. Or it could just be a fun jab at each other.

 

I’d be down for a DC Comics and Marvel Comics crossover, especially since it’s been years since the last one in 2003 - 2004, and 1996 for the one before that.

I could picture the way the writer or writers are chosen. They either pick one who has worked at both companies, or they have two writers, one from each company, to make sure their characters are represented fairly. I can see Donny Cates and Scott Snyder working together to write a great story, and artwork from Patrick Gleason.

Plus, if it works out to be a good miniseries, it might allow the other crossovers to be reprinted and be available digitally for the first time.

 

I...read it the other way, although to be fair, it is worded super-awkwardly. That Doomsday gave its life protecting Superman from Thor and Hulk. The "invaders" into the DCU would be Thor and Hulk.

The only crossovers I'd still be dying to see would be the unfinished original JLA/Avengers we never got, although it's way too late at this point... and a Roy Thomas-written, Jerry Ordway-drawn Invaders/All-Star Squadron team-up. Although really, it's too late for that as well.

 

I read it that way as well, Doomsday dies protecting Superman from Hulk and Thor.

Wish we could get Marvel and DC to do more crossovers, seems they were in a good place from the mid 90s to the early 2000s, we got a lot of fun books from them during that time.

We’ve got Empyre, the power shift with the Shi’ar, Knull’s coming, and the Olympian gods throwing their weight around.

And Richard Rider is the only Nova left to fight them. Fresh off the heels of the recent Annihilation no less.

What else could go wrong?

If your referring to how quickly Cates’ run ended, seems it was nothing more then a vehicle for him to culminate his many interwoven storylines from other comics(Thanos, Silver Surfer Black, Death of the Inhumans).

Now that run has concluded.

 

Just making a joke about renumbering in general. Pretty silly and down right confusing at this point...I don't even know who Donny Cates is, shrugs.

 

One of Marvel’s best writers right now, IMO.

 

From what others said, there's some sort of bad blood between some of the people in charge since then (I hear Dan DiDio 's name dropped as a reason). I forgot the details, if there were any, so people more familiar with the current politics of The Big Two will probably have better things to say on this subject.

 

From what I recall, it started with Joe Quesada who threw insults at DC during the early 2000s. Wasnt the same since.

 

The Zombie Virus finalky gets to the Main Marvel Universe (and not be relegated to alternate universes that are either a few decades removed or almost just like the main comics......

Or the Many Angled Ones or the Cancerverse finally invade......

Or the Phoenix Force recontitutes a Dark Phoenix that has all the memories of its past hosts and goes on a rampage......

Or Marvel gets there own Superboy Prime.....

 

And X-force is still my favorite X-book and new mutants still isn't
