Via Shockwave Lab Weibo. New thighs and shoulder fillers. Need some assembly. Each set colored for one of each POTP Rodimus versions

 

Neat Combined mode upgrade. Sadly, it just kibbes up the mode I actually like.

 

How does this "upgrade" the figures?

 

Gives combined modes shoulders stronger and cleaner.

 

The shoulders look nicer. Those knee upgrades, though, on the smaller figure are ugly. No thank you.

 

Only puts the tabs in place to hold the arms in the chest

 

That's good enough for me; I keep him in Rodimus mode anyway.

The problem I always had with other shoulder fillers was they impair shoulder articulation; this seems to completely solve that issue. In fact, my only complaint would be that the knees don't match the color of the thighs.

 

That extra shoulder articulation in combined mode is nice. I may actually end up getting this set.

 

Obviously the smaller / deluxe Hot Rod is sacrificed for the betterment of the Rodimus Prime mode. I may be in on this one.

 

This set looks interesting and I would get it for Rodimus Unicronus only!

 

Too late.  I sold off my POTP figures a while back.

 

I actually want this so I can finally justify getting Rodimus now

 

Of all the unnecessary add-ons, this might be the most unnecessary...and the ugliest.

 

I’ve got a Shapeways set that does the job for Rodimus but it didn’t fit on Unicronus so this is a welcome addition.

 

Looks cool, but first I need the figures myself since I missed out on them when they were in stores  

 

What happens to the extra bits when he\'s in vehicle mode?

 

I am warming up to this kit the more I look at it. I only have the Unicronus version of the mold, so the black knee/shoulder joint won't look as out of place as it will with a regular Rodimus figure (And I personally think it looks decent on him in these pictures. Not great, but it's not a horrendously out-of-place part because of all the black he has as well). My main issue is that the thighs are so blocky rather than the nice beveled edges of the default thigh pieces.

I still would like to see a front-on shot of Hot Rod without the fillers attached to his thighs before I decide on getting this or not.

 

Add this kit to my \"meh\" list. I dont even display the inner Hot Rods on these figures because the trailers only other mode is a blown out torso.

 

Wheres the LEDs?

 

Smaller bot mode looks worse. Larger bot mode looks better.

They released an earlier kit for Unicronus: 2 blasters that plugs into the shoulder area to cover it up.
