Yeah I didnt like TFs Action Masters bcuz they didnt transform and for me that whole "gimmick" is what draws me in to anything that transforms
Hasbro has handled Power Rangers toys aimed at collectors in an anti-BoA way for the better: Non-roided up sculpts Individual ranger specific-weapons included off the bat Villain figures Only thing left is to make fully articulated, transforming Megazords, something which is well within their ability.
If Transformers' current lines are anything to go off of they can make 6" scale combining and transforming Zords that would scale with any villains they put out in the Lightning Collection. Like it would be awesome to have a fully transformable Megazord, Dragonzord and Titanus to face off against Goldar and any other MMPR villains we might get. The best part is they'd probably be fairly affordable compared to the bricks that were the Legacy releases and the insanely expensive (but worth the price) SOC Zords.
I don't mind smaller zords but I also want bigger combiner ones, basically to replace my old BoA zords. I'm sure it's child's play for Hasbro and the only tick they've yet to check off on the outdo-BoA list. The irony being that Hasbro isn't even full-in on Power Rangers just yet. Yet they've outshined BoA by leaps and bounds.
I wouldn't mind smaller sized zords as it means they won't take up as much shelf space, but I want them to be actual figures and not cheap model kits. Though, it would be nice if they would give us a Shogun MZ in scale with the Legacy Ninja MZ. Speaking of the SOCs, when are they are going to tackle Dairanger?
Deluxe sized core zords with legends sized auxiliary zords? That sounds like it may be in the right scale for lightning collection villains. That would be pretty cool actually.
"shit" or not, you missed the point. you said in regards to smaller combining zords "Any transform would make it a useless brick that can’t really do much." The mini voltron may not be great, but its a fully articulated, small scale transforming figure, its probably the closest example in the west of something like what was being discussed and it is far from a useless brick that can't really do much
The current Beast Morphers Ultrazord is close to what you're looking for, then. It's at the very least proof of concept and gives us a good idea of what's to come. I'm excited, after having the Ultrazord. Imperfect, but it's brought me a newfound joy I've not felt in PR toys since 2009's RPM. BOJ's Zyuohger impressed me greatly, but it wasn't a US production, so I don't entirely count it. Hasbro's the first US release that's impressed me in a long, long time.
I second that, while I did need to tighten some of the tolerances on the connectors, the Ultrazord from Hasbro is a ton of fun and more fun than BOA Zords by far
I’d like to see them use the transformers size classes. Fully articulated and fully transformable. I want them to have voyager sized mega zords with deluxe scale auxiliary zords (maybe using the transformers siege weaponizer style so everything can be more cross compatible.) Maybe the smaller price point as well if there are accessories or really small auxiliary characters that are needed. Then leader or commander size carrier zords. If transformers can exist and do what they do, then so can power rangers with their much simpler designs.
I have this little thing called "Super Minipla Daizyujin" that makes this statement laughable. At least an argument can be made that transformation isn't the only point of Transformers, but that they're also characters in their own right and non-transforming ones at least function as depictions of those characters. Megazords aren't characters. If they can't transform, there's nothing else you can really do with them.
Is that a full set of figuarts Power Rangers by the vintage Megazord and Dragonzord? I hate this person so much right now! Here’s an unexpected crossover.
I guess you just failed to read the post I made before yours. Those are also nowhere near the $20-$30 range and you have to build them yourself (which reduces cost). How much more would a completely built toy version cost? See previous statement. I stand by my statement. Which was that they couldn't made a smaller combiner worth a damn at the price point of a modern articulated 6" ($20-$30). I said this explicitly in multiple posts, INCLUDING the one you quoted. You bring a larger figure that was priced more than double into that discussion for some reason. And a figure that is (to me) garbage when combined. So please don't tell me I've missed any point when you're on an entirely different topic. I'm sure Hasbro could blow our minds with a smaller combiner if the price had no limit. I want an affordable line of MEGAZORDS that would easily allow fans to have a shelf with 10-20 of them. Most of you seem to want a larger 15" plus combining line of Zords/Megazords that would cost considerably more to move well. I'm sure we will get a form of that for shows like MMPR but how deep can a more costly line like that go if the sales suck? Will you ever get the zords you want if they are from less popular season? Hasbro has already shown us with Marvel Legends that they can go deep and even put out unpopular characters that miss without much worry. I always wish everyone gets the kinds of toys they wish for but being realistic a 6" Megazord line is more likely to go deeper and satisfy my needs. I already said that I know some of you wouldn't get it and it's all personal preference as to what we are all looking for. I just want good looking and moving representations of the Megazords from seasons that I like. There aren't many seasons were I care much about the individual zords as they go to combined mode as the default 90% of the time. Oddly I care more about having good looking Voltron Lions, even if they don't look as good combined because they actually did stuff individually that I care about. I loved the Action Masters as a kid. They were a great supplement to my main line figures. They just didn't have enough articulation to keep me interested today but very little from back then did either.
oh man I wish I had the space to display like that...instead I had to stick all of this into two closets
