If Hasbro decides to make a standard trailer connection for OP that they'll keep for at least 2-3 figures, that'd be fantastic.

 

It's about time they made an effort to standardise that.

 

G2 trailer would be fitting since Prime already has the 5mm port down the middle of his back, easy way to attach a new backpack

Wonder if the actual G2 Hero Optimus will get a new-mold(not just paint, yes I'm aware of RTS Laser Prime being repainted in the G2 cancelled Hero Optimus colors) homage in EarthRise. That's the one that's overlooked quite a bit.

Looked like a powerful and chunky bastard back in the day. It was the 1st fully articulated Optimus(then quickly overshadowed by G2 Laser Prime)

 

I do wonder if Earthrise Soundwave is coming in some form

with Amazon having a possible siege Rumble & Ratbat reissue for Er And now a possible Gen selects Mm Spy patrol.

It seems unlikely but certainly seems possible

 

This or another clever repaint is the only way I'd get this OP mold. Could also make an exception for a G2 yellow eyes, black trailer with a giant "OPTIMUS" across like my childhood figure. Other than that this ER is too aesthetically similar to the Siege mold.

In my mind a repaint with a different deco is more justifiable than a new mold that looks the same as a figure I already have.

 

Optimus redecos should be:

Siege Voyager Optimus: Nemesis(we got it already), SG

Siege Leader Optimus: Toxitron, Nova Prime

Earthrise Leader Optimus: SG(yes, both), Ultra Magnus(with new trailer), G2, Pepsi

...IMHO

 

And this here is why I'm sticking with the Classics mold: I have every repaint of the mold I could desire with the exception of the yellow and black Shining Magnus version.

 

Looking at the boxart again, does anyone else get a kibble-less Grimlock vibe from the bot in the sphere behind Shockwave?

 

I want Cel shaded ER Prime.

 

And the more I read up on the connection between Shockwave and the Dinobots, the more sense it makes.

 

Bigger Dinobots have been a longtime coming. Felt like the POTP were in-scale with their G1 toy counterparts but I didn't like the combining gimmick as much and would prefer bigger Dinobots that didn't combine.

Not expecting on the dot G1 Sunbow scale chart adherence but something close. For example, maybe Swoop as a big voyager or small deluxe, Grimlock as a leader, et al. It's time!

 

i think people are seeing what they want to see, the background guys can be seen as several different bots, to me they look fairly generic but i can tell where people are coming from definitly.

on the subject of dinobots, im pretty confident they arent going to be in wfc at all, wardens statements on them from cons indicate that the potp ones are the best we're getting for the moment, if they were in the pipeline we'd know from the statements givin on 'em, double dealer was confirmed to be in the works months before his leaked listing, it wasnt solid when he'd come but the statement was something like 'were looking to make an accurate version of him' when asked about a potential doubledealer and titan skylynx iirc. i dont have the clips but they're out there.

this is also why i think wfc 3 titan will be a new metroplex, warden wants to take a crack at em, he's been name dropped a couple of times at cons i believe and i think he works well with wfc gimmicks, maybe he's not the wfc3 titan but i have no doubt a metroplex v2.0 is coming in the next couple years.

 

I just can’t see it with Metroplex... Maybe a rerelease, but not a new mold. Not with the way all the Titans got clearanced out. It’s amazing they’re even doing Scorponok, which is probably more out of obligation to finish the set.

What’s the demand for something like that, it’s already been done. Unless they plan to V2 of all the Titans I cannot see it. I think a better Metroplex can be made, but I don’t think it is feasible for them to do so.

At least in scale Dinobots are something that haven’t been brought to market. I do remember an interview with Warden and another Hasbro person where some guy said he would like them in the Titan line. Warden and his coworkers didn’t say definitely no.

 

im talking about the intent of the people that make the toys themselves, despite all the stories of clearence and what not from people on these boards, hastak havent shown they want to stop or are hesitant to do anymore of them, at least from what i have seen, a new metroplex is likelier than not, but as always not everything works out maybe titans will be abandoned for the more modest commander class. but at the end of the day, the toy makers seem interested in making at least one more after scorponok.

and on a personal level, i would love a new titan metroplex, so theres demand from me at least, preferably a smaller one more in line with the height of tr trypticon, neither of them are in scale with normal bots anyway so they should be scaled to eachother imo, also would be good time for a new slammer figure pack-in or no it would be very welcome.

a leader metroplex isnt for me, but id love more baseformers at leader, commander or even voyager class, several jg1 candidates come to mind and i hope we get 'em

 

Would much rather see Grandus than Metroplex again as he would fit the line better what with Micromaster and base connectivity. Plus he would pave the way for more Japanese characters that could do with a much needed update *cough* Star Saber and Sky Garry *cough*
