Pros:
It's a quite complicated design with 120 parts. And the transforming is innovative and interesting. All weapons could be well stored in his alternative mode.
No backpack, no part-forming.
9 jet nozzles in total in alternative mode. 2 transform into his eyes.
Love the cute appearances.
Beautiful paint.
Great resin base with very nice details from the movie.
Reasonable price (285RMB in China, actual price about 240RMB).

Cons:
I didn't take any photos of its alternative mode, because the paint blackened my fingers . Don't wanna touch it if not necessary.
Transforming is not very smooth in my opinion, probably due to the thickness of paint. Once all the parts are firmly locked, it's pretty difficult to tear his head apart.
Big crack on back of his head. It's a design flaw. All the other parts fit together really well.
Weak shoulder rod, weak ankle.
Poor pose-ability.
Paint of big cannon on base could be improved.
Smelly paint and package.

Update:
The more I fondle it , the less it blackens my fingers, and the smoother it transforms.
I figured out how to separate his eyes and nose. Pulling apart doesn't work well. They should be dislocated, eyes to front, nose to back.
Big crack on back of head is not a design flaw. It's deliberately left there for you to unfold both sides of his head.
Smell of paint fades within days.

Thank you. I searched for existing threads before posting mine but failed to find it. I will upload more photos of its alternative mode in that one later. Transformed it several times today, and it's getting more and more interesting. My impression is that it's an underestimated product.

 

Yeah the thread has the wrong title since it was created before anyone knew anything about it and no one has bothered to update it, so it is probably hard to find.

I'm very glad you have a positive impression of it! I like chibi stuff but chibi stuff that transforms? Give me all of them!

Black Apple, the designer, promised an optimus prime to pair up with megatron. I hope they could release it before the ice cream truck twins. A prime is what it takes to turn the tide.

The size in alt mode is about 20 x 20cm, much larger than its robot mode. I guess it could not survive in a bag, due to the delicacy of structure and paint.

 

Exciting news! I am one of the few who actually loves the design of TLK Optimus and I even had the herocross non-transformable SD figure for a while and enjoyed it.

I collect transforming SD toys and TLK Megatron is my favorite Megs design so this is RIGHT up my alley. I know what I’m buying as soon as China reopens.

 

I am in Love with this figure! Engineering is a work of art! Video Review is being processed... will be up tomorrow.

Black Apple just announced in his webcast:
1) the next sd product will be soundwave in BBB movie.
2) the sd optimus prime will be the one in the last knight.
3) design of "mpm" ironhide was just finished! Hopefully we could see it in this summer.


UPDATE:
I missed the live webcast yesterday so above was only second hand information, some of which was not accurate/correct.
Black Apple just uploaded the 3-hour long content of the webcast and I'm watching it.
I'll write down all the important content later.
