It's definitely real. I've had my eye on the set for ages and not one review ever mentioned fake mold on the inside of the boxes. Some of it came off on my fingers when I opened up the boxes, ended up having to wear gloves to get the rest of the figures out.

Bleh. That's worse than rust on a flea market find. Though I take it the figure itself presented no signs of it inside the blister?

The figures seem okay... There was nothing separating the figures from the mold inside of the boxes though. There was a little on Tusker I had to wipe off.

Well, that's gross. I guess they were just sitting in the warehouse too long. Now I'm going to have to check the boxes of my set.

...awww, i was quite tempted at tfsource's current asking price, but the packaging is a huge part of the charm of these figures and with legitimate water-damage, it looses so much...

Can you keep us posted on what they say?

That's a serious health hazard. I might try to cancel my order.

No response via e-mail or Twitter from TFSource yet. If I get any word, I'll post about it.

If anyone else has this issue, I would recommend using TFSource's contact form to report it:

    TF Source Contact Us

This is a potential serious health risk, it's important that they be made aware so they can take appropriate action in alerting their customers.

    Hello,

I ordered a set for $49.99 in the sale but shipping to the UK is at least $70.

I’m not looking to scalp. If someone pays me the $49.99 then I’ll have it shipped to them. It says shipped in the US is free but I’ll pay any fees if there are any.

Not looking to scalp or gouge at all. Thought I’d got a bargain but can’t afford the shipping fees.

If I’m doing anything wrong by offering this I’ll remove my post.

I got Glacial lord from TFSource today. Razorspike's box had mold in it. Not as bad as what you had, but it was disgusting. From the looking at the box it look like it had gotten wet and dried out. The other four boxes were okay. Tusker looked like it had gotten wet and been sitting out in the sun also.

I cannot recommend TFSource. Third time ever using them in the past year and 2 out of the 3 orders I had issues.

On top this mold, they also cancelled my Maketoy My First Blaster when I hit ship stack this past Monday. I had ordered, paid, and stacked since they got a restock in December. I am very very disappointed with them.

I've placed shit loads of orders with BBTS since like 2009, not one time I've ever had an issue with them.

My boxes seem fine, going to sticker them tomorrow so I'll take a closer look. Only complaint is my 2 day shipping technically took 3 days, not including Sunday and Martin Luther King day

Did they not include instructions on where to apply the remaining stickers?

edit: I get it. Half of them are put on so you deduce where the remainder goes? Except for the deer. The deer includes full instructions on the sheet since none is pre-applied.

    Fun. I guess.

I'm still pissed about the Maketoy My First Blaster cancellation and mold.

Stickered up my Glacial Lord, transformed them indivdually back from beast to bot.

Haven't combined them to gestalt mode yet.

That was pretty fun so far.

The nostalgic factor is off the charts. :D

I'm not as pissy or fussy as I was an hour ago, lol. :p

Were the ears on your Tusker almost impossible to tab into place like mine? Love this set. Hope someone picks up the torch. Also...

Yeah, the ears were kinda scary to tab back when going to individual bot mode. Just have to be cautious and delicate I guess.

Gonna combine him to gestalt now. :)

I kept all the boxes, but Razorspike's box is in ziplock bag, lol. :p o_O

I totally recommend this set. $50 was a fantastic deal, guess regular price is $80 on TFSource.

I can't believe this set was sold/mrsp'd for like $200-250 back when it first came out?

$100-125, $150 tops seems reasonable if somebody decides to carry the torch?

I got it for $123 at BBTS a couple of year ago, and feel it is worth it.

If I can swing at at some point, I'd like to own the original Computron and swap limbs with this set. The colors coordinating and the themes playing off each other so well and what not.

Looks like the retro-future line is in the past.

Wait, I distinctly remember there being a delay on these at one point because Fansproject said the container fell off a boat into the ocean... but I thought it was just a marketing thing.

What with the new mold thing... I kinda wonder... did it actually happen and TFsource somehow ended up with the water damaged shipment? lol
