ahhh, I was wondering if there was a connection there. Their fake Dino-Riders were cooler. XD

FOR THE SECOND TIME! XD These don't hold a candle to the Kenner designs though: Aliens (Kenner)

That said, I loooooooooooved the Kenner Designs and still do, so I'm glad they existed because I dunno if I woulda gotten into Aliens and Predator without it.

That was the 90s in a nutshell.

Alien, Terminator, Robocop, Predator, Starship Troopers...all with toys next to Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers.

Was in Cambridge and stopped in at Target. Mostly old stuff. They have a Brunt and several copies of the ubiquitous Shockwave.

Fair enough...although I might argue at least those toys had more of a collector appeal where these look straight up made and marketed for kids with little regard to collector appeal. But point taken.

They didn't really though. I got a Dennis Nedry as a kid who came with a baby Dilophosaur and removable arms. He included a squirting backpack and gun.

The T2 figures included gimmicks like they were Cyberverse. The Aliens had lots of similar accessories to GI-Joe and Beast Wars.

It was very much aimed right at kids. Not like the NECA stuff we have now or McFarlane doing high end stuff.

The ones I recall were pretty faithful figures...but to be fair, I wasn't paying much attention to toys in the 90s. Hell, i don't pay close attention now to many toys, but seeing einhazard's pic, those look more like Imaginex toys than Alien movie toys.. I have seen legit movie figures for Alien, Predator, and the like somewhere along the way and thought that's what you were referring to, but if there was kiddie looking stuff back then, too, I certainly couldn't say otherwise.

Considering that every Target has like 50 of them now, it's only a matter of time. XD

    You're both right!

(also Aliens didn't have that many accessories. They were more gimmick-based)

I think they were still definitely collector lines aimed at kids because there WERE no collector lines. Let's face it, MP's didn't even exist until like... what, 2003, and a lot of the 'collector' stuff before then was just whatever thing MacFarlane was making creepy. Sure, I remember in high school starting to see anime-related 'collector' stuff show up at like... Gamestop, but we're talkin' like '92 here. The Aliens toys were gimmicky, fun toys aimed at kids.
But we WERE the collectors. Heck, I consider Kenner's Aliens the first toy I ever 'collected' (I had transformers before then, but it was the first thing I ever focused on).
I think Kibble's more trying to make the point that the stuff I found in WalMart is more 'aesthetic doesn't matter, the designs are the same just in different colors, this is for kids who don't care about that stuff' while the cool designs of the originals were definitely something one could collect and appreciate regardless of age.
Either way... I'm just sayin' I want more Mantis alien. Oooh, and the NECA Rhino that's coming out.

Also... nothing at Bloomington Target. Except many shockwaves.

He's in stock on Pulse if you want him now, but that's all I've seen.

::EDIT:: So I ordered 3 of the lawn league packs from Amazon assuming that if the stats were on my side I'd get the 2 different packs and 1 extra I could return.

Instead I got 3 of the same pack....

Anyone want one so I don't have to return them all? XD ::EDIT:: One claimed, one extra left.

    It's this one:

Are Rumble/Ratbat still around anywhere? I have a hard time believing they are real since I've never seen them, but I kept hearing you guys talk about seeing them all over in the past.

If Pulse’s Seacons are delayed till March, is it reasonable to expect other domestic stores to be delayed until then, too?

I take this news to mean the only way to get them “on time” is through TT Mall directly.

Not really Pulse delayed Galaxy Convoy until December/January when every else got him in in September, TCP, TFS, etc. BBTS is the only store that has to play by Hasbro's shitty restrictive rules.

I think it's because Hasbro is getting them as part of a distribution deal vs. e-tailers who're ordering as a middle man from TTMail.

The trade off is you don't pay the secondary markup.

It sucks, but at least by the time I get mine I'll know if there's things to watch out for.
