Roughly paraphrasing from machine translation, so apologies for inaccuracies: PSX said on weibo that MMC's factory has not resumed operation. Pre-order time will be announced on weibo at a later date.

I assume that unless MMC's already made exclusives for TFCon Orlando, there'll just be leftover penguins. And an extensive delay will affect the 2020/2021 calendar.

 

If it's true that 3rd party companies use smaller companies/factories, we might be seeing very long delays.

I've said this on one of the FT threads, small factories can only withstand this situation for one month plus. Salaries will need to be paid, etc. If after one month, factories are still not open, the smaller ones will go bankrupt. After that 3P will need to hunt for new factories. There will be a learning curve again, etc, etc.

 

Don't forget to factor in government bailouts. They rely on factories to hit the almighty GDP target that was set for 2020.
I would expect the 3Ps with their own factory or dedicated relationship to be the least impacted.

 

Very ugly colour scheme, but a cool idea

 

I am unsure what they’re going to do with all their leftover stock. Expect clearances on these from the likes of BBTS and such as well.

Speak for yourself. I think this looks great. I love the color scheme, love the crazy anime head, and tbh the other head isn’t bad at all. You really hate this figure and that’s fine. Don’t assume that everyone thinks this sucks just cause you do.

I do think it’s hideous. And again, it’s not very “grow-up” of me, but I do hope this kind of crashes and burns. I know repaints and retools fuel MMC’s unique molds, but they’re also a meme around here by doing so much of it.

Since this isn't an at-show exclusive where they need it made before-hand, unless a secondary retailer orders too many (if anyone other than PSX can sell it), you won't see this on clearance.

 

To each their own. I collect unusual bots, and I love that MMC make prototype repaints and Autobot Tarn and things like that Pharaoh Sphinx which nobody else would ever think of. And yet they did it, and I own it, and it’s beautiful.

And, yeah, this will likely be made in small numbers and sell out pretty quickly.
