Is it good? I liked the movie, though I did have some gripes with it. I'll have to finally read Zahn's Heir trilogy :)

Dune's one of my favorites! The entire original cycle, perhaps without Chapterhouse which is a a bit worse IMO. My mom got it for me in the early 90s, after i played Dune II, the video game, as I heard it was based on a novel. I come back home and see these five (Chapterhouse hadn't come out yet in Poland) big-ass books on my desk. First time I loved a book so much. Skip forward some 28 years and I'm a literary scholar, so hey, it can have a real effect on you ;)

I just finished 25th Hour by David Benioff which was made into the Spike Lee movie with Edward Norton. It's pretty good. Most of what was in the book made it into the movie with a few parts left out. I really enjoyed it. It's based on a drug dealer who spends one last night with his friends and girlfriend before he goes off to federal prison. The characters are well flushed out and believable.

Finished reading the expanded Last Jedi novel earlier today.

Now im reading Star Wars Resistance Reborn. Pretty good for an inbetweener book taking place between Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker

That's cool! I love books too. I've always wanted to create a thread for bibliophiles.

If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord Volume 5, Latina is so cute.

Finished reading Star Wars: Coruscant Nights II: Street of Shadows yesterday and started reading the third book of the Star Wars: Jedi Quest series. I already read all 18 Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice books and its two special editions, Jedi Quest: Path to Truth, and the series's first two books beforehand.

The Hunger by Alma Katsu, the story of the Donner Party with a heavy dose of the supernatural. It's my second read through and I'm enjoying being creeped out. Old school horror, there's a fair bit of creative license with some of the characters but it sets up the major plot points. I would highly recommend those not familiar with the events to brush up on them. Otherwise, it will be a confusing read, for a Donner Party enthusiast. It's a nice addition to your library.

Though I am biased about enjoying the happenings of the ill-fated group because I live within driving distance of where they spent that fateful winter. It makes the spooky aspect even better because I've visited the places mentioned in CA/NV.

If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord Volume 6 the anime did no justice to the series.

I finished reading Star Wars: Jedi Quest books 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. As of now, I'm taking a little break from this particular SW book series for now and start on Star Wars Epic Collection: The Original Marvel Years Volume 1 and once all of the current (so far) released volumes of Marvel's original run of SW comics are done, I'm heading back to the Jedi Quest series to finish them up and then re-read Star Wars: Legacy of the Jedi and Star Wars: Secrets of the Jedi and then start on the third and final book of the Coruscant Nights trilogy which in turn also reminds me to read the MedStar duology at some point as well as reading the young Boba Fett series, The Last of the Jedi series, and even The Last Jedi novel that serves as a followup to the events of the Coruscant Nights trilogy. Also, I'm considering to start reading The Vampire Chronicles series by Anne Rice or even Dune by Frank Herbert sometime afterwards.

Snow Crash and the complete Chronicles of Conan! Snow Crash is fast past, prophetic, and just all around something else. Conan should be required reading with Beowulf. Lots of Lovecraft elements in Conan, as the authors were pen pals I believe.

Resuming The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

I'm starting to get why these last three books (I'm on Wolves of the Calla right now) aren't of the same caliber as the first three (plus Wind Through The Keyhole, did like that one). Roland is still cool, but Eddie is downright annoying, and Father Callahan's flashbacks really detract from the main plot of this particular novel in the series. Just past the 400 page mark. And I hear Song of Susannah is universally regarded as the worst in the series. Oy (heh) Vey.

That said, I'm pretty bummed the Amazon pilot was rejected. Hoping Netflix or someone picks this up for a high-quality animated series (a la Castlevania). I just don't see a live-action interpretation of this series working well without Game of Thrones-caliber CGI and makeup. Especially with things like Maerlyn's rainbow, Blaine, "going todash" and how trippy the dimension warping/post-apocalypse look of Mid-World can be.

Been re-reading the Steve Jobs book by Walter Isaacson.

I guess it's worth revisting to know more about the Apple man.
