I like the white outline, the clear blends into the red too much

Normally I’d go for clear, but the outlined symbol really pops in the picture, it’s helped me decide which one to go for

I'll tell you what, Roadking is an engineering masterpiece. I literally, never transform my figures but I did because I have the XTB MM ready to set with his team. To think that he is comparable to MP10 size-wise and the whole trailer and cab compresses into a figure.

    Anyway, I'll stop gushing now.

Yup. I transformed him back yesterday and it turns out there were a whole heap of things I missed. I feel like I must have been drunk when I transformed into the truck first time.
I'm going to go white outline if I can get a thinner outline. I agree the clear outline does kind of look meaner though.

I chose silver outline for Combaticons cause silver just seems more battle-ready. On the other hand, I went white outline for Stunticons as I thought it looked more sports car showroomy.
I tend to stick to the same decal sheet across all bots in a combiner group as I want all of them to have the same shade of logo on them. So I'd likely use the white outline ones on Road King when I get him in hand, although it's debatable if decals even need an outline for him.
That's my own approach, no right or wrong logic, and a tinge of OCD thrown in.
In pictures, sometimes it's hard to tell between silver and white too. *shrugs*

I know Hydra and Quietus weren't as well regarded as Road King, but they all still look pretty good at least:

this might be a stupid question but I haven't really kept up on the logistics of how the combiner parts will work for FT menasor and superion.

will there be some sixth kit we have to buy with the combiner parts or will they lump them into the 5th members? or is this still unknown?

Combiner parts will come with the 5th character release and will be priced as much as Road King.

What Dalianjj said is "around the same price as Roadking". It could be more expensive as well, just close to that price is all we know.

What would the evil version of the Three Musketeers be called? The Three Saboteurs?

All for themselves and one for none, united we retreat divided we run.

Funny that they all put smoke stacks on him.
Don't remember the G1 toy having those.
Can't remember of the cartoon either. Need to rewatch it.

You can rewatch if you want, but he never had smokestacks. You know how it goes, people want realism instead of representing the source material.

Well, trucks need smokestacks, so I'm glad they all did that. Its like, should we have a weird smokestack-less truck just to be slavishly accurate to a toy that prolly didn't have small smokestacks molded on them because it would be more complex to make than its worth and a cartoon model that didn't need to be so intricately detailed because it was a kid's cartoon? They didn't give them smokestacks because they didn't think kids would care. So now that they get to make something that's not cheap, it should copy that cheap design?

But the source material of the source material, is a Kenworth K100. And they have stacks.

If we want toon accuracy, make the figures out of play dough because as we clearly see, they don’t have any joints out in the open or panel lines. Toon accuracy requires it to morph into a vehicle not fold up into it.

I give all transformers toys a 0/10 for no toon accuracy.

The question is, would have the bot aesthetics, on all 3, been cleaner and more representative of the character design if the smokestacks did not have to be accounted for in the engineering?
Personally, I don't care for the smokestacks since it wasn't in the toon nor do I give 2 hoots about a 70s truck most of us have never seen or will see in life.

Well, I don't think any of the space shuttles had landing gear either in the toon, but people seem to like it when the toys do...

"Having the basic parts needed to function" is usually seen as a good thing.

It's not a "this specific truck in the 70's (or 80's) thing"-----it's a "non-electric vehicle thing". Whether diesel, gas, or steam---if it's got an engine, it needs an exhaust. That's not "detailed car enthusiast knowledge"----everyone knows that, and expects a vehicle to have it. It looks obviously odd if it's missing. Kind of like a plane without wings...

This. Trucks have smokestacks, and to not have them is just wrong. People shouldn't be all, "Well, they forgot to draw them or put them on the original toy, so lets go with that nonsensical, amateur model of a truck because of slavish devotion" they should be all, "wouldn't it have been nice if the cartoonists and toy makers back then made the extra effort to put freaking smokestacks on him because that's what trucks are like, and it sure is cool in the 21st FREAKING CENTURY toy makers can actually correct that mistake!"
