I guess that's one way to spin it - worst hands/feet and less figures being a good thing.
But hey, to each their own. It's okay to prefer whatever you prefer, no need to pretend better things aren't better.

They are better, if what you want is a hand that can also be a foot that can also be a weapon for the robot or vehicle. They don’t get to be wasted parts in any mode.

if that’s not something that matters to you, then go for broke.

    Autocorrect strikes again, LOL. :D
Guess we can call Seawing an anime ray, then, given how his coloring based on his Masterforce anime appearance. :)

The lack of individual distinct weapons that the takara set does have and the toon accuracy is what sold it to me.
Also TT nosecone is far better then Has nosecone, which uses the Brawl mold.
Having a extra figure which isn't even a part of the combiner originally does not add anything for me.
The mindset for a takara set really comes through with the new seacons. Adding weapons and strong color choices.
If hasbro had done it I bet you rippersnapper would have gotten a recolor into overbite for sure.
The way Takara handles it always brings it to a new level.

I’ve said it before, but I still want Hasbro to do Monstructor, remolded from the Terrorcons. As they would no longer be Pretenders, the team would be renamed the Monstercons.

Slog, Icepick and Scowl would be remolded from Blot
Wildfly would be repainted from Cutthroat with the unused Wildfly head
Bristleback and Birdbrain would be remolded from Sinnertwin

As the original team had no larger leader toy like Combiner Wars does, the torso would be either new character Hydrax repainted from Hun-Grrr, based upon the unreleased Bot Shots Hydrax who would have shared a mold with Hun-Grrr. Or a repaint of Turtler as Bristleback’s Pretender shell.

And this seven component team would have a new feature - Bristleback and Birdbrain would form the feet, making the shortest G1 Combiner the third tallest; after Predaking and Devastator.

As far as I know they only hinted at Dinoking. which would be retools from the dinobots/terrorcons. At a con Snarl was shown with a gun mount on his neck, and at a toy fair Cutthroat was shown with a different head, which actually was spot on the flying dinoking bots head.

Funny thing to note is that all the ones they actually avoided to do are the 6 bot combiners. With only LioKaiser getting a box set which seems to be disliked a lot due to its heavy mold degradation, as well as double reuse of 1 of the most hated molds, Brawl.

I’m pretty sure liokaiser was “hated” simply because it didn’t have Leozack or jallguar

That, and the fact that the Brawl mold made a terrible drill tank.

I don’t know why, but I get the feeling humanoid pretenders will show up in WFC part III. Bludgeon’s already a fan-favourite character, and the micromaster formula works well with the idea of sticking them in deluxe-size mechs. Maybe we could see Monstructor after?

Maybe humanoid. But they'll look robotic. No way they're going with Transformers sized human shells again, given that it was a dumb as fuck gimmick that the G1 comic writers could only justify in-universe by having them regularly visit planets that conveniently happened to be populated by transformers sized human-like aliens. (Oh, and one of them became a monster movie star on Earth in one issue.)

Pesonally I would like the cartoon appearing pretenders to be done in either part 3 or beyond. Including Metal Hawk.

I think monster Pretenders too. But no way are they going to do those stupid Titanmaster sized shells again that the Japanese writers could only justify by turning Transformers into just another mecha show and which had barely any articulation in potp.

I think this time Hasbro might update the Pretenders properly, so that the shells and the core robots will have proper articulation and playability.

They already pleased the Masterforce fans in potp after all. It's only fair to this time have the Marvel fans and the G1 Pretender toy fans in mind when and if they produce new generations Pretenders.

I mean, that seems like a perfectly reasonable reason to hate it.

I was thinking stuff like Bludgeon, Octopunch and the other deception pretenders, as they’re already mechanical designs. Have their head and neck lift up, their chest open and reveal a little seat for a micromaster to peg in. That new deception micromaster pack with the green tank already looks like bludgeon.

    Think so.

Must check with InDemand toys, who I have my w1 order with, when theirs are due.

They didn't show up on their "due soon" list this week In Demand Toys

Not just that, I've seen reviews, the figures wouldn't hold together. With the wewk brawl mold. And tbh the skylynx mold just fell over. Due to ratchet issues.
If anything they can do 3, 6 bot combiners, or 4. If they make a scaled devastator.
Thing is thry only need to split up the torso, with 2 deluxe figures. And it is very much possible.
