Maybe it’s just me but this doesn’t seem to be better than the current options like TE-01. The battle damage is a good idea but having already bought MS and TE this year, this would have to be clearly better than what’s out there now.

I broadly like this, but I already own MP-10, TE-01 and MS-01 (not to mention MP-01!) and various other MP-scale Primes of various types (e.g. IDW), so a new MP-scale Prime would need to be pretty damn perfect for me to be interested. So that said, right as it stands I probably wouldn't buy this, but if you changed the following areas, I'd consider it:

-The face colour should be grey, not white - Transform Element got this wrong with their first release, and corrected it later on, and the toy became so much better because of it. Don't repeat their mistake!
-The split down the front of the legs is pretty unsightly. I'd love to see that entirely removed - either by changing the engineering or, at very least, the renders show that the front plate(s) of the legs are replaceable as part of the battle damage, so include a "clean" front for the legs as partsforming. Not an ideal solution, but would make the toy much better for display.
-Similarly, the little circular tabs on the legs are pretty ugly, can you get rid of those?
-The gap between the bottom of the hip skirt and the top of the legs makes it looks like the legs are floating. This might look better if the product were physical and not against a dark background though, as you'd be able to see the (presumably grey) understructure of the legs better. This one would probably be a non-issue in the finished product, but wanted to mention it anyway.
-The chest windows should be blue rather than grey - if that means the windows in truck mode have to be blue too (which I guess they would), then it's a worthwhile trade off.

All that said, there's a lot to like here. The way the chest windows switch around from robot to truck is a cool idea, the battle damage looks great, and it is indeed very clean, even compared to TE-01 (which is, itself, pretty damn clean.) So while I wouldn't necessarily buy it myself, I certainly hope this gets produced, and especially if you wait a year or two (until MS-01 and TE-01 are harder to get hold of), I could see this finding an audience. Good luck!

    Honestly, I can't be sure.

I put myself in the "no stripe" group, mostly because I didn't ever get a G1 Prime until the recent re-issue. So the Prime I have an attachment to has a straight-up red cab of the cartoon. To each their own, of course, but I consider that a negative myself. This actually means there's only two cartoon-accurate Primes on the market, since MS-01 features the inaccurate stripe.

But if it's well made, has a fun transformation, and doesn't have a horrendous price? I would very seriously consider it. I have more Primes than any other figure, and he's also the only one I have doubles of the same mould for (have MP-10 in both standard and YotH). I don't have every Prime on the market, though, nor do I expect I ever would (I neither own nor want to own MS-01, for example), but I'll certainly consider every option I come across.

My main stipulation would be that transforming it shouldn't be like a Rubik's Magic Puzzle. I get that some faux parts and panel trickery are necessary, but MP-44 takes it too far (and TE-01 is bordering on too much).

As for a company... what about WJ Toys (formerly Wei Jiang)? I know they're primarily known for KOs but they do have that not-Computron design, M09 is heavily customized, and the BA Ironhide (not yet released) looks to share almost no parts with its MPM source. I've found their figures to be of a fairly reasonable quality without costing too much.

I am not one to replace figures, generally. I have MP-10 and find it satisfactory for my representation of Optimus Prime. So, would I buy it: probably not.
Having said that, if this one looked great, had much better articulation and was really affordable, I could be tempted. I really like the way the battle damage can be swapped out (and that there are options all over the body so you can swap different areas as the battle goes on). I also like the detailing underneath the 'skin'

I am concerned about the hips, though - it appears there are no hip skirts, so one of the poses exposes a gaping hole as the pelvis tilts to allow the legs to kneel.

It does look like the transformation is fairly straightforward, which is great. Prime doesn't need to be overly complicated. I'm not a fan of exploding figures and there's nothing about Prime that needs things to explode (looking at you, MP-44). Just fold pieces out and rotate them.

I have the KBB voyager CHUG scaled MP-10v. That's all I need. I'm done with Optimus. Now if somebody would make the fucking deluxe Insecticons, especially Ransack, then we'll talk.

I mean, I've got MP-10, MS-01, and TE-01, so I'm not really hurting for an MP Prime. But if another one came out with clever engineering, better paint, an aesthetic that's not as super-cartoony as MP-44, and a good price then I wouldn't say no to another.

Count me in, great that people get inspired to do better. Looks lovely! Paint, heft, clunky ratchets and my heart is yours.

Personally with MP44 I think I won't look for another MP Prime for the a few years. I might buy one with a different deco if quality is high and price is comparable to the current 3p offerings.

I don't see why that would be more uncomfortable than any other leathered animal skin.....

Or do you mean with the Quils included?

    No.

Something about the proportions seems a little off to me.

I still need a Prime with full movie style Battle damage all over him, so probably, if it came in at £90 like TE and MS did.

Mp-44 does everything for me. That being said, I'm not an optimus collector. But as an MP collector, I would pass on this.

Battle damage is a good idea. Would make for a nice diorama.

This lost me at the fake chest. Yeah--don't care that it's the "same part;" I hated that on MP-44 and won't be won over by it here. I really don't mind if the truck has the same window style as the robot, so that switch-around is not important to me at all. Overall the concept figure doesn't look bad, but it's nothing I would buy.

I think my other big issue is that the waist armor isn't paneled. The hip joints are underneath that entire section, and it just looks really odd. Giving the waist panels that can flip up for leg articulation just makes sense to me. Don't know if that's an issue with anyone else.

Neither LS or MP-44 have fake chests, FS has flip around windows, while MP-44's chest is just turned inside out. People need to realize that expecting everything to stay the same is inefficient, every character in Transformers Lore has slight changes between modes, this level of thinking is ignorant to the fact that the humanoid titan looks like a truck, but is not a truck, while the truck... is a truck.
I do agree with the second point though, the gimmick does sacrifice the look of the hip articulation.

I mean I can arrange a similar scenario where I get you a Cactus chair. Definitely better than choosing to buy a toy.
