i love NA cosmos because he is so small and chubby. but MS cosmso just blows him out of the water as far as the two bots go. i just wish the NA bot was bigger and the MS bot had the right colors.

hopefully NA cosmos gets bumped off by MFT. they could easily fix all his issues with a remold.

Pretty sure there's the tiniest glimpse of the new Soundwave in this Golden Optimus video. But they blur the figures so there's not much to see. With CNY coming, this is looking like after, I'd agree.

Ditto - zero interest in gold repaints of any figure but the video was fun to watch.

 

wow, love my PT KO of DX9, so this OS is up my alley. definite buy for me when released!  

 

Just a heads up: this is an original design not an OS DX9's Sonic Wizard. Magic Square don't do KOs.

 

the similarities are uncanny though. without taking a closer look at the hinged joints and swivels, instead of the ball joints on the DX9 version, at first glance you could easily mistake the two, which I did in the Legends thread. say what you want, but no, this is definitely NOT a fully original design in my eyes. and i don't really care as I think the DX9 design is sublime and if this MS offering can pull off improving and up-scaling it, I'm all for it.  

 

I admire the your enthusiasm, but even the DX9 version shares transformation similarities with the G1 version. However, given how they did their Seekers, I would definitely say that MST has been inspired by some of what DX9 (and others) did.

I'm still curious to see what the height turns out to be, and if the cassette cavity is the same size as MST's Blaster, and DX9's Soundwave. I'm hoping it's bigger so that we can get a bigger Blaster with some of his minicons.

 

I really hope that we get the Autobot cassettes even if MS doesn't revisit Blaster. And a redo on Ramhorn and Steeljaw.

 

There's only so many ways you can turn Cassette Man into a tape deck, so they are going to use a lot of similar engineering. But I'd say that they both took inspiration from the MP

 

Pls note, I never claimed that the DX9 was an original design. I only pointed out that in my eyes, MS offering can easily be confused with the existing DX9 offering when FredVIII stated that the MST was an original design.

I don't have an MP SW at the moment, but looking to get a KO when a good opportunity presents itself. I had tried twice on purchasing on eBay and both didn't pan out as they both ended up being scam artists.

Of course any/all new molds/engineering has to have some connection as a starting point to the original G1 version. We wouldn't even be here if not for the fact that these figures pay homage and are inspired from the original G1 toys from our younger days.

I just want this up for pre-order now!! It seems a bit strange that their Megatron has been up for pre-order for an absolute age and this still isn't..   

 

It isn't clear yet if it'll all be one package of tapes and Soundwave, or separate sets.

I'm not mad about it. I made them because I wanted tape figures, and now we're getting fantastic tape figures that are better than what I did. Designing them was a great learning experience for me, that's been useful in more complex designs. I consider it a win/win.

More excitingly is that they show a production sample Laserbeak, including its impressive transformation:

I think it's safe to say that MST's tapes are undoubtedly larger than DX9's, which likely means a larger Soundwave too.

That Laserbeak is ready to roll out, I'm wondering if he might be packaged with Megatron?
