You could argue the merits of it was intentional or a mistake, but they aren’t legally bound to honor the price.

 

Theres a difference between forgetting a zero which is a mistake vs clearly misleading a consumer. Hence why there are false advertising

Oh, I know there is a difference, but it's fairly easy for them to say that the picture and wording was a database mistake, and difficult to prove it was malicious or that you were personally harmed in some way and should be compensated. You didn't have to travel to their location to buy it, you just had to click a link, so you weren't out any travel time. Once you got to the site, it was clear it wasn't MP-29+, so it's unlikely anyone bought it thinking they were getting one thing and instead received something else. In short, it would be extremely difficult to prove it rises to the level to justify a claim of false advertising. I used to work at a law firm, and one of the attorneys dipped his feet in this area quite often, so I do know a little bit about it. Typically these types of claims fall under class-action lawsuits like in the example you linked, where "Dannon was ordered to pay about $45 million in damages to plaintiffs in a class-action lawsuit alleging false claims about two yogurt products."

And I'm not defending them on this, just stating the facts. I received the email announcing the sale, and had every intention of taking advantage of that sale to pick up a second one, but once I clicked through and saw the old version I just went on my with my day. Again, I wasn't materially harmed in any way. Well, maybe emotionally, but that is also difficult to prove.

Yes exactly! I knows hes an awesome figure, but I'm not sure I'm ready to do it. I might just bite the bullet and move on. Another thing that sucks now too is paying tax. I was waiting for an ebay sale but now with tax I'll probably go with another vendor

 

No surprise whatsoever here. TFSource used to be quite good, now they’re the bottom of the barrel when it comes to TF etailers. Shame BBTS seems to be following suit.

Anyone suggest a stand for Megs in his alt mode? I plan to buy a 2nd in June to stay in bot mode and have the two side by side. A stand so it can stay upright would help with the display I want.

Tempting, how much of a difference is this guy to a non "damaged" one? I'd rather pay full price and get a good copy vs saving some $, but I know even when getting a new one there are still many imperfections. Also I have never used Yahoo Japan. How is it?

 

Especially since 29+ isn't known to have a lot of QC issues.

 

What is he about $209 here probably close to that one you add on fees and shipping ($30-40).
For the most part it's for Japan unless you use a proxy( They pretty much take only Japanese payment methods). I haven't had any complaints do far, so I don't know how it works if you have an issue. It's a good place if go out trying to find releases for cheap. I've picked up most of my Mall exclusives from there. For releases like Shockwave($140), Megatron($150)and Macross stuff I've been able to pick them up for cheaper than the going rate on ebay.

 

What qc issues?

 

Just that + was more prone to scratching when applying it's backpack than the original.

 

Finally bit the bullet and brought back my favorite MP and I don't regret it. Free shipping and no tax via @ToyDojo. They sent it out the next morning and received it in two days (priority shipping) and packed beautifully with MP19+.

This guy is beautiful. The paint, the tampos, the sculpt. I am wowed!

 

Stunning! I kept the original MP-29, so I have both, but this is easily my favorite of the two.
