G1 lasted 7 years plus 3 years of G2. It had a lot more time to stick.

Animated had 2 years plus a Botcon set.

Again, I'm not denying how much I enjoyed it, but my Animated figures are all in storage. Prime adorns my shelves right now... And when it's over, the next series will likely take it's place.

Actually I wouldn't be so sure, while G1 and the Movieverse are dominating the 3rd party market there are a few Unicron Trilogy figures starting to show up now because the kids that were the target audience for those shows are now adults with jobs offering them the disposable income to start investing in third party transformers, give it a few years and the kids of the animated era will be old enough that the 3rd party companies may turn to look at them. Heck wait about 15 years and 3rd party may start making Cyberverse figures.

 

A bigger pre school looking transformer? Nope.

 

HELL NO! I hate the Animated/RID/Cyberverse style. I wish they would stop making it so there wouldn't be a ton of garbage cluttering up the toy aisle.

G1 is just as stupid looking, let's not kid ourselves.

That said I hope Animated gets its time in the spotlight soon. MMC Chromedome is a great proof of concept that modern 3p Animated figures would be great.

Yeah it's IDW designed, thing looks like it stepped right off the comic book panel. That said it has very cartoonish proportions, could easily work as an Animated figure.

Transformers Animated was so wonderful... If only someone ( Newage? MS? Can you hear me?   ) was interested in making all the existing characters in legend scale...

Alright, no problem.

Basically, Animated follows the same sort of team dynamic as Beast Wars, with the heroes being an inexperienced leader and his misfit crew battling a powerful, renegade villain. It's set in 22nd century Detroit, where a man named Isaac Sumdac has built a robotics empire by reverse engineering Cybertronian tech. He's a single father to a daughter, Sari, who acts as the Autobots' gateway into life on Earth and human culture. Over the course of three seasons, the Autobot team learns to work with each other, and becomes a sort of family, while protecting the city against super-science-powered human villains and the occasional Decepticon; it's usually a case where just one 'Con is capable of wiping the floor with the whole Autobot crew by themselves, and that's just the grunts, and not even Megatron himself.

A lot of people have been historically been turned off by it's "super deformed" art style, with exaggerated proportions and protruding chins. However, it's got a killer story, balancing lighthearted humor with some truly dark themes. And if you ask me, they pulled it off better than Prime did.

As for Omega Supreme, a version of him exists in the universe as transforming into the Autobot team's starship. I won't give away any spoilers to what his function is or what happens to him.

 

There’s actually a guy I follow on a Facebook who is doing a cool custom. I would love a mass produced one - especially Legends scale... sigh...
