Some of my best figures look not great from the standard front view, and needs the proper pose to bring them out.

This may have been answered somewhere in the thread but does anybody know why MMC makes two different styles of packaging? One is with a display window with the figure shipped in alt mode, the other is no display window and the figure shipped in robot mode?

 

Different markets apparently. In Asia they do it one way, in the west they do it in the other. I'm not entirely sure if that's a preference thing or what.

 

I prefer alt-mode packaging, simply because it'll "reveal" wrong parts/ misassembled parts more readily than bot mode will, and hopefully stop those ones from leaving the factory.

Most any TF will still "unfold into bot mode" while riddled with QC issues. Not many can go into alt-mode very well with the same problems.

 

I also like that they come in alt-mode because I display my second sets on that configuration quite often.

 

In Asia, for the first two figures, at least, they were boxed in bot mode.

 

Yeah the add-on box. It seems a bit big. But it might just be flat like a chocolate box.

Although now that I see it I can’t help but imagine that he’s the most expensive transforming subway sandwich.

I haven’t been keeping up with this set much at all but just took notice of it more recently.

I have to say I’m impressed by the all in one transformation (minus Bruticus’ silver slippers with the add on kit). The bot modes seem to suffer a bit with long torsos and Onslaught has slightly odd proportions in alt mode but overall for what they do with all 3 of their modes and overall articulation, it is certainly impressive.

I’ll be interested to see how Brawl turns out but with how the others turned out, I’m sure he’ll be great. I d9nt think I’ll be able to afford this any time soon (The Stunticons have been gobbling up my budget leaving little room for others) but if there is ever a box set or rerelease later, I would definitely consider Assaultus joining my collection.

I’ve looked into the set more and see there are pics of Brawl. Just as I expected, he looks good and fits Bruticus quite well. This will definitely be a set I keep my eye on. Unfortunately, while I was looking into I see that it’d be around $630 USD + shipping for the whole set (including the add on set (I do prefer the toy look for Bruticus)) so ya definitely way out of budget for me. I’d be looking at around $1000 CAD! oh my wife would kill me and happily collect the life insurance if I spent that much on TFs any time soon.
