I'm sure they'll be tweaked, but I hate those colours and wouldn't buy it if that's how it eventually arrived. Just stick to the render colours or copy FT, as they got that right. The head definitely needs work too... I hope I don't regret waiting this long for Locke and missing out on a reasonably priced Koot after all...

Hmm, usually these old designs don’t end up so great when they finally release. It definitely looks like something that feels about 5 years old with a paint job trying to modernize it

I mean I like Koot but I wouldn't say they got the colors right exactly. Koot is way too matte for my taste. Also, if there's one character I would like to see some weathering and wear on, it's Kup. It was literally part of his default onscreen design, unlike every other character in existence. Wouldn't have to be severe but I'd like to see it look similar to what it did in TFTM.

Can't really take this serious until we get painted prototypes. The 3d poses just look too awkward. Has promise like Virtus.

I personally love metallic Paint Jobs as well as cartoony ones. Hopefully they make both so everyone gets their kup

I need to see a clearer shot of this guy. It's growing on me- I think if they round off that head, it might be good. Looks like the chest part might have a slight curvature to it, which I like. I just hope the head isn't too small, in the earlier designs it looked tiny. Definitely all in on Dr. Egg and Virtus though (assuming no major changes)

An older model trying to match it with newer, fancier designs... Sounds like a perfect description of Kup!

Meow. I feel like it took more effort to write that than it took @octobotimus to hook me up. Thanks to both of you for your energy!

Yeah. Those are a bit shiny. But I’m more concerned about some awkward-looking shoulder articulation. That kneeling pose photo isn’t a real great marketing tool.

I think it's a bit unfair to compare a hand-painted prototype to the retail version of Koot, especially when @ibot already agreed that the metallic paint should be a regular gloss. And if you shove any figure into a weird pose designed to show off the articulation the figure isn't going to look as good as a natural pose.

I'd already written Koot off do to the usual Fans Toys' PITA transformation, but frankly unless FT reissues him it's all moot at this point. I don't have a Kup, and I'm not paying aftermarket prices for Koot. It's this or nothing now.

A paint job that makes a metal robot look metallic. Awesome. Wish more companies did that. Looking forward to seeing the final product.

I'm wondering if they do manage to include the cracks/wrinkles/weathering from his character model, would it come across better as sculpted lines in the plastic or painted lines. I'm thinking sculpted but again depends if XTB decide to try and incorporate that look. Looking at pictures I don't think Koot had any other than the bags under his eyes?

Yeah please dull the metallic paint. I have no problem with a matte finish on Kup.
