Neat! Though I think if you pose it differently and not in the Obarimus Trigger\'d pelvic curve, and instead standing up straight with  the shoulders back it will look better.

Looks better than in earlier shots. Not a big fan of the heels though, seems to be a trend in modern Japanese mecha designs.

 

Just finished Megatron! It was actually fun. While handling you'll notice that he's no action figure, as the arms can come lose. But other than that... He's amazing!

That's stock plastic, Flame toys do an excellent job of casting the parts in great colours so you don't have to paint them... of course they can look EVEN better if you do.

 

Stock plastic, I only applied a repro label.

 

Bloody hell, I thought they were like, unpainted and grey or something, OR you bought one that was painted.

It gets even more confusing when there's different versions of, say, Nemesis Prime!

Incredible. I have to attribute it to the plastic quality and your photography. Those colors on Megatron were popping. Really looking forward to picking up that kit sometime soon.

 

Yeah, the green isn’t great either but if they changed the purple it’d solve all our problems.

 

What do you mean by “heels?” Like, the fact that his feet have a slight gap between the toes and the heel akin to the arch of a boot?

Also it’s not so much a “trend” as that’s just what feet are.

 

Robot feet were always more like boots to me, and a lot of designs that I recall don't have heels. Take for example most Transformers like Optimus Prime and Megatron, or Mecha like Gurren Lagann and the RX-78-2. They all have flat boots. I started noticing the heels in Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans. Barbatos starts out with flat feet and in the second season almost every single mobile suit has those stupid high heels.

It's not as noticeable on this G1 Prime, but it's definitely there. He looks like he has normal boots and then there's this big chunk of plastic at the heel just for style reasons. I find it especially weird because it's not as prominent on their IDW Prime. It's just a design choice I don't personally like.
