Easiest toon representation of this us Bruticus. His arm is a shuttle. A full, complete shuttle that doesn't alter appearance of it's nose cone when forming the arm. But his chest plate is the front of said shuttle.

80's animation be damned, such things are canon, let alone commonplace in the current faux parts MP world.

Yeah, it might make you look twice or have an uninformed person ask a stupid question when inspecting your collection, but honestly - who cares?

If the answer is "you" then it's time to rethink either your hobby or your priorities.

 

Considering that Gravestone's torso is mostly hollow, I wonder if they could have added some folding in the cab transformation process so the truck parts aren't immediately visible from the top and the backpack would have been more compact. This would have probably ended in a less clean truck mode but I guess for some people the sacrifice would have been worthy.

 

Its always bugged me when people just post a pic of their broken figure, no words (or even more annoyingly, just a frowny face). Because I'm like, "Okay, what does this mean?!" Give us context! Did they break it during transformation? Was is shipped like that? Did they accidentally knock it off the table?

Like no offense to people who do this and it isn't their intention, but my immediate reaction is skepticism. If the figure broke apart doing what should've been normal handling, don't be friggin coy about it. Say "this is a piece of crap, I was trying to transform it and it broke!" Again, sorry to people who do this, but the lack of any context makes me suspicious they're trying to imply something that didn't happen and gaslighting the figure.

 

I wanted to wait for the toy version, but this pic might be the last straw for me

The truck mode is definitely the definition of an absolute unit!

 

I love how with FT when the joints creak it's because of "FT's awesome engineering to make sure the joints don't fail", but when it's XTB it's "they are so creaky you know they are going to break, XTB sucks".

 

I have an odd question, I'm keeping my Gravestone (just came now) in truck mode (for now at least), should he have an insignia on the cab somewhere? One of the 1st things I do when I get something like this is I grab my Chromebook and type in "G1 ______ cartoon" or something of the like. I can't seem to find a good clear shot to determine whether he does or not.

I watched a few G1 vids, and in 1 shot it showed an insignia on 1 side, other times it wasn't there. In this shot it shows on this side:


I swear I've seen shots where there wasn't 1 on that side though, unless I'm getting mixed up. Anyone know for sure?

 

I think it's a tired gimmick, but yeah, it doesn't affect any sort of credibility or trustworthiness.

I think not seeing the faction symbol in some shots of MM is just animation error, and can be taken as they were trying to get through it the fastest they could so they skipped details.

even in this view it is pretty hard to see it even though it is there.

 

Yeah, that's 1 of the 1st pics that I saw, but I often look at more than 1 to make sure, and I'm picky. I want it to be as close to G1 cartoon & comic usually. Unless there's some molded detail that would hinder, then I might have it in a slightly different spot.

So probably both sides in that spot I guess then?

 

And there's the very light purple bumper and grill for ppl that don't know where xtb got it from.

 

My guess is they just went ahead and made all the truck furniture purple-ish to make it that much more different from the youth version. Presumably all that stuff will be silver or chrome on the toy version.

 

yea, that's how I did mine, I used the "rivets" to make sure they were both lined up in the same spot.

 

My god, my Gravestone is still stuck in customs, from ShowZ.

 

No issues... just love...
